Heard on Radio 2 that it's National Cupcake Week.

Hope you reflected this in your marketing activity, Trooper.

Blimey, so it is! I think we are a bit late this year to get involved, seeing as the 2011 champion has been crowned. :D

2012 though, this is our olympics...

You should make fanny cakes.

What type of sponge would work best with cottage cheese though?

Afternoon.

Another 100 cakes to make tonight! YAY!

I have a favour to ask, I'm going to piss around with the website a bit tomorrow, and would like to add a few testimonials. For those of you that have had the pleasure of sampling Mrs T's delights :hat:, would any of you be willing to pm me a testimonial?

You know the sort of thing
"These cupcakes are totally awesome, I would rub them over my naked body if I didn't scoff them all in 3 seconds every time" Pete, 98, from Gloucestershire
etc...

I will love you all forever.

Weirdly, google results differ between browsers? If I search for "Cupcakes Milton Keynes" in Safari, Chrome and Firefox, the website comes back at different places in the listings?

Windows box I assume? Bloody Windows users :D

I think i'm just going to trash the page tonight and rebuild it, it'll be quicker than bug fixing sitefusion.
I'll probably post when I think it is fixed if people could give it a go.

I get that occasionally, but a refresh fixes it. No idea why!

The task over xmas is going to be to rip the site out of sitefusion and make it a bog standard HTML site...

I'm not convinced you even need to be logged in. I think Google will customise search result ordering based on your search history, even if all it knows about you is a handful of cookies. In which case if you start with three browsers with blank cookies and log them all out, then search for different things in each one without logging in, then search results will diverge between them over time automatically.

So, a few more images of cupcakes:

cupcakes1.jpg

Attachment:
cupcakes2.jpg

Attachment:
cupcakes3.jpg

and that is pretty much the end of our cupcake journey :) For a few not unsurprising reasons.

1) everyone who ordered basically wants the bog standard cupcakes, not fancy bespoke stuff.
2) making bog standard cupcakes 100 at a time is boring as fuck.
3) which was making Mrs T hate rather than love baking.

We made a few hundred quid in the end after the cost of setting up, and it might be something Mrs T goes back to in the future, but with working at Hotel Chocolate and her BA job coming up in a few months, spending her spare time making a million cupcakes that are all the same isn't the most fun in the world.

Not sure whether to try and flog the business, but the order book is nowhere near enough to get any sort of money that would be worth the effort, or to just shut it down. Mrs T has a friend over Bedford way who makes wedding cakes and cupcakes, might see if she wants to buy all our cake boxes and cupcakes stands, or even have them for free in return for making us a wedding cake! :D

Good fun while it lasted (or at least it was at the start :D ) but when the phone rings and your first thought is "oh crap" rather than "woo, an order" I think it's time to stop.

Well at least you didn't loose money from giving it a go. Hope you can sell your remaining cake related stuff to the lady you mentioned.

That's the trouble with customers, they always want stuff the boring stuff you can't be arsed making. :DD

I look forward to designing the logo for your next venure. :)
