There's a photo of a window somewhere that looks like a man's penis.

Was having a chat yesterday early evening with someone who used to trade grain for ("a well known integrated commodities producer and marketer that went public this year" - Ed) and he commented that he saw an old colleague recently who said it was hard to find people to do that sort of thing nowadays. So I said for him to email me and I'll pass my details over to him. It can't be that hard, can it?

Put griddle pan on high heat. Leave it for ten minutes, or until it is red hot. Add knob of butter. Add steak that you've rubbed salt and pepper into. Count to thirty. Turn steak over. Pour melted butter of the top of steak. Count to thirty. Turn steak over. Pour melted butter over the other side. Count to ten. Serve. Made me feel considerably better, that. Steak and new potatoes.

Nonsense. I've seen tens of dogs been attached to ceilings by drunken teenagers in my time, after rubbing them on their jumpers for a while.

I used to hoover my old dog, he was fine about it (in fact, with the stiff brush hose attachment, I think he quite liked the scratching). The two shedmonsters I have now, however, are petrified of the hoover and won't come anywhere near it.

I strongly suspect they'll be using an email-fax conversion service. It'd be much too much hassle to have to burn fax numbers otherwise.

Post subject:  Re: Bits and Bobs 30

I repaired my quadracopter over the weekend with judicious application of Loctite All Plastics superglue.

Took it out for a test run yesterday in the car park of a pub we'd had a meal in, and it was awesome. It flew like new again, in fact, it seemed to be more stable than it was when it was new!

I then decided to see how high it would fly, so sent it up to 5m high (I'd set the altitude limit to 5m in case I lost WiFi control of it while it was up there.)

I didn't leave it up there for too long though, I brought it back down to Earth by holding the joystick down, thus telling the quadracopter's brains to reduce power and lose altitude.

I wasn't quite prepared for just how quickly it would lose altitude though. It came down at 1 metre per second. By the time I knew what was happening, it had crashed into the concrete at that speed and shattered the centre cross again.

It's now sitting on my living room table, superglued again, waiting to go back in to the hull.

Well... it's a learning curve.

There is at least one person here who will stuff the toilet full of paper, THEN do a shit in it. They're clearly doing it deliberately to block the toilet and cause work for the cleaner. It's odd as hell. There are also one or more people who have such explosive shits that it gets poo on the outside of the toilet bowl, in defiance of all known laws of physics.

Gah, Ebuyer have stopped selling the external HD enclosures I've been buying for 5 years* and sent me an updated model from the same people.

The new one looks similar and has the same PSU connection. Thankfully however I checked the pinout and it has the 12v and ground reversed from all my other caddies. This is important as I tend to keep one PSU next to the computer and just bring the enclosures to it (I have about 12 with old projects on).

Now trying to find remaining stocks of the old model. SVP have some so I'm going to have to bite my lip and order a couple up from them (I boycotted them after they turned to shit after the takeover). Don't want to go mad and order 10 at once in case they too send an updated model.

Sounds daft I know but I don't want to be messing around with multiple power supplies trying to remember what PSU runs with what enclosure.

* Sumvision Apex Plus. They sent an Apex 2.
