I don't know if it's in anyway relevant, but I'm currently using IE (8, on XP) to browse the forums, and every so often it's doing the "go to the top of the last page instead of the first unread post" thing.

Mobile IE9 doesn't like the jump to last unread feature on the mobile skin. Is there any browser detection js hackery involved?

Yeah - it's a fair bit faster on normal PCs, too. The only thing it doesn't do well is PMs, hence the "magic button".

I know that I read it once, but didn't have 'proper' internet to see the forum at the time, so was reading via an app for speed and you couldn't do it on there, so I don't think I took the information in.

I'm still not entirely sure what benefits Tapatalk gets you over the standard mobile stuff (besides letting you read secret threads ), but I'm buggered if I'm paying anyone to find out.

It was better than the old mobile view, but nowhere near as good as the current one.

For me it's not having to keep enlarging the screen to accurately click on threads, things like that. I'm too clumsy.

Tapatalk is also extremely efficient in just bringing down the text, so if you are at a place with GPRS only, or really shit 3G coverage (basically anywhere in London ) then it still works pretty well.
I know the mobile site is stripped way down, but tapatalk seems to work where even that doesn't for some reason.

Hmm, though I do like the 'mark forum as read' thing on the apps - I use that a lot.
