Too Human wasn't that bad. The weight of expectation made it worse than what it was. I'd say Kane & Lynch was infinitely worse.

I haven't played Too Human but it can't be worse than Kane and Lynch 2. Nothing is worse than that.

Koch Media could have probably got away with a slightly lower bid!

How come south park is so cheap? Isn't it nearly finished and surely it would sell at least 1 million copies. That would make at least $40-50 million.

Apparently South Park "only" has 2 million viewers in the US.

Well, the Boy Scouts of America are.

True fact: when I was 16, I wrote a large part of the revised syllabus for the Scouts' IT badge.

Ouch. Only 64,000 WiiU consoles sold in the US last month. Xbox360 sells 300,000.

Wii U exclusives, then no. It has only had a couple of Nintendo games and downloads at the start and anything else that was going to come out has been delayed or in the case of Rayman is now coming to other consoles.
I'm not worried though. 3DS had a slow start and it is great now. A week doesn't go by without some indie developer announcing plans for Wii U. Plus I don't get though loads of games anyway :) I am looking forward to Lego City Undercover next week.

That ZombiU is meant to be pretty good, isn't it? I actually really want that game... but can't quite justify spending around £300 on a console purely so I can play it.

Differing accounts. Apparently there are tricks which rather break it. Its no dark souls.

As for the wiiU, I'm keeping an eye on it, but same as the 3Ds, the region locking puts me off somewhat.

I think of the poor reviews it did get was due to people scoring it based as a shooter when it is more of a pure survival game.
But I'm too much of a wuss to play it. I'm not really the best person to recommend games to people. I like my games bright and Nintendo-y.

I have one, got it for £200 at launch (for the premium one) or I probably wouldn't have got it.

It is the box that lets me play Nintendo games.

Code:
You walk into a room , there is a table in front of you with 2 boxes

Box 1 contains the next F-Zero game
Box 2 contains the next Wipeout game

I would choose box 1 , however Wipeout was a series I enjoyed and the fact that Sony Liverpool was made up mainly of Psygnosis staff was just one more reason I was sad to see it go.

Although I cant see one of the 'real' startup which would be the one I remember from the Atari / C64 days where you got the LUCASARTS wordy logo with a THX type noise then a little tinkle noise as a star flashed at the top corner of the logo

I've just been looking through a list of Lucasarts games, and I can kind of see why Disney killed them off. They haven't really done anything good in recent years have they?

The Star Wars games might be better off in the hands of someone else after all.

Yup. My first thought was "aww crap" and then I realised that I was lamenting the Lucasarts of old, not the current company.

I was looking forward to 1313 - the other question is what do they do about their older titles - there were always talks about an updated version of stuff (I think Tie Fighter / X-wing would work on the ipad ?)

Bleurgh, no! It would be a fucking travesty on an ipad. If ever a game benefits from decent controls it's that sort.

:this:

It would be like being told Codemasters had gone bust. Would be sad but frankly I haven't bought one of their games since about 1994.

It's been a *long* time since i've played it - but i remember the main controls being the joystick (directions + fire) , and the other parts being targetting / throttle / change weapons / etc etc

I agree that a virtual stick is generally terrible but i cant see why it would break the game ?

(To me X-Wing / Tie-Fighter were just supped up versions of Wing Commander with better missions)

I guess for the same reason that racing games (amongst nearly all others) are so deeply unsatisfactory when played on a touch screen. To be honest I am yet to actually enjoy *any* kind of action-oriented game on an iPad and given that those are the sorts of games I like I tend to think they are just shitty things to play games on.

I have dozens of supposedly great games installed on mine and I have yet to play anything for more than a few minutes.

There are things that work really well on a touch screen (Magnetic Billiards!) but most of the ported stuff where they just use a virtual stick are rubbish - the ones that i've seen work well are typically games which had a mouse as the main control method and mouse plus buttons pressing icons on screen maps reasonably well to touch.

More than sixty discrete controls, including eight just for wingman orders and twelve for target selection.

Yeah, but all you ever used was target nearest, cycle target, speed up, speed down, and shoot the fucker. Oh, and occasionally shield controls to shift shield power to the front when you're doing a head-to-head.
