There's plenty of grumpy owls on here every day !

All you have to do is say good morning and they all expose themselves :DD

Just seen a photo of me published in the staff magazine.

Due to bad lighting and shadows, the phrase "Zombie with a goatee" is being bandied around the PortalKabin.

Let's tattoo something onto Craster's face and see if it appears in the painting!

Let's take photos of both Craster and Myp in their portrait poses on the weekend so we can compare them.

"Some old gay cunt" with the words in that order seems to only have ever been said here, out of the entire Internet. Excellent. Now, we need to get Google to associate the image with that phrase.

Maybe it's some weird "Picture of Dorian Gray" issue, where whatever hideous, immoral things that Craster does in real life don't affect him, but are reflected in the painting. Of course, that means in the last 400 years the only hideous, immoral thing he's done is "grow a huge beard".

If I can beg a lendsies of the time machine after you get your portrait done, I would like to visit the Gallapagos Islands before Darwin gets there and steal all the tortoises and replace them with Chewits.

This will probably only appeal to JC, but my Alienware laptop (finally) showed up today. I'd been expecting something that was a bit of a letdown, a bit crap and therefore very easy to part with on eBay for (possibly) a bit more than I paid for it.

What's actually arrived is the most beautifully packaged, gorgeously designed and well-built computer I've ever laid eyes on. And I've owned many different varieties of Apple Mac over the years. It's really something else. I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to part with it.

Sadly although I needed to be at home to be able to sign for it, I couldn't blag the day off and so I'm having to work from home. So I've got this gorgeousness sitting next to me, but I'm too busy to be able to have a proper go and put it through it's paces.

Probably a stupid question - why does a jpg that looks identical on everyone else's machine, look different (in terms of colour palette) on one particular computer? The computer itself is used for graphics work so has a load of Adobe things on it. If you open the image in Windows Picture Viewer, it's fine, but not in Photoshop. I could put that down to Photoshop itself, but it's also wrong in her Firefox too, but yet IE is fine. :S

The pictures really do not do it justice. I did think it looked pretty vulgar in the photos, but the reality is quite something. Not even remotely portable, the body is metal and it weighs a tonne. Mine is 'lunar silver', which is actually a kind of gunmetal grey.

The packaging is really something too. The manual is a leatherbound job that's actually looks posh-er (and worryingly larger) than the manual that came with my bloody car!

It even comes with an incredibly daft looking baseball cap, the kind that only smelly nerds that don't wash properly would ever dream of wearing in public.

I took a couple of photos, mostly so I knew where everything went for re-boxing and shoving on eBay, but I'm seriously wondering if this might be a keeper now, and I'll sell my desktop PC instead. It's that nice.

I have the manual like that. I was one of the more fortunate ones who brought the el cheapo Alienwares from Ebay and pretty much got everything with it (apart from a personalised ID card for calling CS with, of course). The manual not only tells you how to use your system but also how to completely strip it into parts and upgrade/maintain it.

From the moment I opened the door to the courier I knew I couldn't go back. Just heaving that box accross the living room carpet and running to the kitchen to get a knife was just the beginning.

Sounds like a colour space thingy.

Firefox may be getting it's colour info from Photoshop.

Does this machine have a fancy high colour range monitor?

Yeah, I was thinking along those lines but I can't see where you change FF's colour info.

But yes, they have posh monitors down there too.

You need Zardoz or Mallowbar for details, but expensive monitors can show a greater colour range.

It'll be that

Hmm.. the bloke opposite her though as exactly the same monitor and does graphical work too and it's fine on his. I might ignore the problem until it goes away.

Isn't is just one using RGB and the other using CMYK? I'm pretty sure PS uses CMYK.
