I remember new years eve 1999. Me and a few friends hadn't planned anything so ended up at another friends house party doing karaoke.

The highlight was walking back home drawing cocks on cars in the ice.

I was in Yeadon or Guisely for a do in a pub with my then girlfriend. It was ok.

Sadly little time for boredom this week. My workload seems to grow daily instead of easing up for Christmas. Some stuff has been waiting on my boss so I wondered why he'd been so quiet this morning. Turns out he's been trying to get hold of a PS4 VR for Christmas and he's now going to drive to Cardiff (from Stoke) to pick one up. It's not even for a gift - he just wants to be able to play it on Christmas Day.

Oh and he's picking up the camera for it in Newmarket. 8)

I wish they existed. I had an incredible electric blue suit. I and a buddy also went on a 4am quest to find somewhere selling cigarettes, that was pretty special.

Gutted!! Still, sounds awesome - electric blue suit, man after my own heart! :metul:

(I know what you mean re photos... would love to see what I looked like back in the day with long - or indeed any - hair... but the whole thing is a pre-relationship, bong-smoke infused blur some quarter century or so ago now... happy [long term only ;) ] memories)

Have to be honest, my/our millennial party sucked... went to That London with Mrs C and the then very young Teen Angel #1 and her friend, met up with my bezzie, his partner, my bruv and his then girlfriend, who was only 18. Walking back from the (IMO pretty mediocre, massively over-hyped) fireworks, barely able to stand through drink (I was carrying the rucksack of booze, admittedly empty by that time), my bruv's GF got groped by one of 9 youths - I had to immediately step in, threw a hopeless punch and promptly got steamed, Mrs C threatening them with a *chair* she'd picked up. Happy days, not. :( Spent first day of 2000 with massive shiner and bruised ribs.

That sounds shit Cavey... I've got to be honest, I don't think I've ever heard anyone say "I had a brilliant millennium".

Most of the stories make out that it was a massive anticlimax.

In a bid to appear cool and down with the kids, this year I shall once again download the top ten albums of 2016 and try to enjoy them.

Wish me luck! Although, I'm already doing better than last year as I already have one of the albums.

I had a corker. Got all tuxed up for a house party at my brother's place. They put up a massive marquee in the garden, with a proper DJ set up, sound system, lights, even sofas in there. Also really did up the living room. Got hammered and had a blast. And Bobby nearly froze to death by falling asleep in the marquee after the heaters were turned off.

Millennium party: I met two girls who were best friends - they proceeded to fight over me all night. I was oblivious to it, of course.

I ended up going out with one of them for three months and then the the other for a year and a half.

I've actually listened to two albums released this year which is good going for me (none from that list though). Nothing particularly innovative though.. Diamond Head's new album (seems odd for them to still be referred to as a NWOBHM band) and Gillian Welch's double album of demos and alternate versions of songs.

I've got four. Kanye, Beyoncé, Tribe called Quest and Frank Ocean.

I couldn't crack Beyoncé; Kanye was good, loved Tribe & Frank Ocean.

Merry Christmas! I've just had an ace Christmas treat.... There was a game released on the Dreamcast a few years ago called Sturmwind. Like most recent releases, it was in limited numbers and eBay prices have gone through the roof as you can't get it anymore.

The company that make it recently announced that they were re-releasing it for a normal price (£38 inc. shipping) so that makes me happy. I've ordered it.
