Good news, Mimi :)

My Dad's also progressing pretty well, he was close to croaking while he was nil-by-mouth as he was refusing the food-tube. They've got him eating now though as he's not NBM any more, and has brightened up considerably. He's getting very upset about being in hospital still though and being quite lonely, but he's starting to take a few steps (with help from the physios.)

Got to go to a meeting with my Mum and brother on Monday to discuss the next steps and future care etc.

Excellent news all round. Mimi and Gaz, I hope things continue to improve! Lewie, you're a walking talking example of what persistence and hard work can get you. I remember when you first appeared around these parts and you haven't stopped for a day since. Well done mate.

Mini-yay for me. According to my little blog, I passed 183 days of non-gambling so that's the six month mark reached. The first three months flew by, but these last three have dragged horribly. Still, slow and steady progress and all that 'one day at a time' malarkey.

Well it's still early days, so I'm not counting too many chickens yet. It'll take a while for the financial benefits to become more apparent, but at least I'm more willing to spend money on myself rather than buying cheap stuff because I've skinted myself.

And thanks all. I look forward to posting the 'year without gambling' post in due course. ;)

My appraisal went really well and I'm enjoying work, and looking forward to the next year.

I've not felt 'excited' about work like this for... well, probably ever, actually.

I forgot, well actually, that's a lie, I tried to post it but for some reason the picture kept appearing upside down on the forum.

Anyway, after a pretty bleak year on the whole, one of the many lowlights was having my bloody mountain bike stolen in August, I finally have some good news on the bike front. My lovely brother has kindly agreed to sell me his Orange 5 for very little money and on tick. I picked it up last week.

Here's a pic, it's pretty fucking awesome and in very good nick. I've taken the bash ring off the crank and put the top chain ring back on.
