Captain Shitpants just tried to flush a hand towel down the toilet. Then had a meltdown when I removed it from her vicinity. Then refused to wear clothes except one of my cycling jerseys. I eventually got a dress on her but it might be back to front. How the gell single parents deal with thus on a daily basis I don't know, stronger than I. |

Just sold my Megadrives and games for £475. That'll do nicely, though the thought of giving eBay nearly fifty quid for the privilege annoys me. On the up side, the buyer lives on my route to work. |

102 Nothing super rare I don't think - I've sold off the more valuable ones individually either recently or a few years ago, but it's a good collection. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sega-Megadriv ... 1459654443? At one point I had far more as Megadrives were the most common system to find at car boot sales and I gave away a load of consoles - unboxed megadrives and master systems and sold some smaller bundles where I had duplicate games. |

Sony have announced that they are going to stop making Betamax tapes next year! Next year? I thought they'd stopped making them about fifteen years ago. In other news, they're going to stop making minidiscs in 2027 |

It's true that Betamax was the de facto standard in the commercial sector, but even that would have largely switched to digital ten years ago. Hell, in the article Sony says that they haven't manufactured a compatible machine since 2005 |

I read an article the other day (which I now cannot find) about one of the last guys in America selling floppy discs, which are still vital in various industrial machines on factory floors, old servers, and so on. He reckons he needs stock of between half a million and a million discs to see him through to winding the business down. I bet there's still CCTV systems around that use Betamax. |

All of the old lighting and sound systems in older venues save to floppy. Venues are loath the make the investment to replace them usually. |
