No. We stopped twice, once in Ohio (for the loo and to clean some iced-up freezing rain off the windscreen wipers) and once in Indiana (for a coffee). The Indiana one was filthy and rubbish. I had a nearly year long bout with stubborn kidney stones that prompted me to throw an existential hissy fit, defriend nearly everyone I know in a fit of pique, and drop off the internet almost entirely. I would like to blame the narcotics I was on for pain, but those actually mellowed me.

But the stones are gone and I'm done with my tantrum. I'm trying to be less feral and join society once again. Maybe I should re-read a few of those Berenstain Bear books my mother tried to use to shepherd me into polite society as a child. You know, "The Berenstain Bears and The Shittiest Year Ever" or whatever one that has Sister Bear becoming withdrawn and playing too much Call of Duty.
