Four more hours of 2011 left here. Am at a house party with my in-laws. They're OK, but the only booze here is fizzy American lager and some fourth-rate wine. This is a very Un-British experience, I can tell you.

To be honest, they were never likely to pull that one off unless they got lost on the way to Norwich... ;)

I might be a little bit dying....Just got home from the in-laws, I left my family behind; I had to get out of there. Peppa Pig on the portable dvd player, plus youtube videos featuring retarded policemen through the PS3, plus too much food and being too hot, was making me feel ill. The hangover didn't help, admittedly.

Going to bed at 5am, then waking up in someone else's bed at 12:30pm to find I was supposed to be at the in-laws, 20 miles away, for 1pm, was a great start to 2012 :D

Now I'm doing some laundry and changing bedding so I can at least say I've done something productive today, before I climb into my lovely, freshly made bed to play Skyrim/snooze.

It's not real American driving unless you're going further than it's possible to drive in the UK without ending up in the sea.

My phones keyboard has updated, and provided a new option that seems to be up down on the amount of Bruno Shit it talks.

I'm not entirely sure if I like this change.

Just went for a walk and take some pictures, on the way back to the car there was a dog running around the car park. As I got back to the car some old bloke was saying that a young lass just turned up in a car, ejected the pooch and drove off. >:|

Unsure what to do next I thought I'd see if the dog was approachable but it was skittish, just kept running off. Anyway after we had been standing around for a while the lass came back, in floods of tears but by now the dog had legged it. Eventually after about half an hour and a brief car chase we had reunited dog and silly owner. :metul:

Yeah, I assumed that's what she'd done. She seemed a bit messed up, I asked her if she was ok and she said yes but as I drove off she was sat hunched over her steering wheel sobbing. Seemed very regretful though and happy to have her dog back so I don't think she'll do it again.

the landlord replied to my email. He doesn't wish to renew the tenancy, our moving out before is fine. We will get deposit back. It was a very defensive communication.

My mum did that to my sister and I once, it was probably the school holidays or something and we'd bee arguing and antagonising each other in the car on the way over the mountain. My mother had obviously had enough of our constant fighting and pulled the car over and told us both to get out :D We did. She came back 15 minutes later...I remember my sister saying "That's your fault, dickhead" and we proceeded to spend the next few minutes shouting at each other by the side of the road. I was no older than 10, so she was about 9, I remember being bloody freezing as well, we only had tshirts on and no matter what time of year, it's always windy and chilly up there.

Sorry to hear about Mrs. Paz's auntie DavPaz, always shit losing someone but that's an awful start to the new year :(

No. We stopped twice, once in Ohio (for the loo and to clean some iced-up freezing rain off the windscreen wipers) and once in Indiana (for a coffee). The Indiana one was filthy and rubbish. We didn't eat -- I'd already stocked the car up with jerky and salted caramels from Trader Joe's beforehand.

Look at the board. There are a few one card links which are really quite pivotal. And ferry crossings require wildcarda or more cards, and there are tunnels like in the Europe one. It's now a lot more strategic, and the reward vs the risk is huge.

But the stones are gone and I'm done with my tantrum. I'm trying to be less feral and join society once again. Maybe I should re-read a few of those Berenstain Bear books my mother tried to use to shepherd me into polite society as a child. You know, "The Berenstain Bears and The Shittiest Year Ever" or whatever one that has Sister Bear becoming withdrawn and playing too much Call of Duty. :D

Sorry to hear that. Still, it's 2012 now, and we've got the, um, Olympics to look forward to. That'll be super fun. Only we can't go and see it. Still, there's the F1 on the BBC and a royal pregnancy to come.
