Surely it would be more embarrassing if she was writing them on your wall for all your friends to see?

Happy X-man everyone. I was away, and I'm sure I was missed (right? Am I right, folks?). Stuff.

Damn, I'm out of practice...

That's pretty spectacular.

In other news, I have made a massive IKEA Expedt bookshelf. Huzzah!

Visit Geekosystem for a picture of the controller in question, and also this gem in the comments:

Quote:
The best bit for me is Ocean Marketing's homepage, which boldly displays this quote: "Your brand is no stronger than your reputation and will increasingly depend on what comes up when you are Googled."

Try Googling "Ocean Marketing."

It's true. Aside from the fact that one of the first results is on Gamersfront entitled 'A study on how to destroy your reputation' (together with an apology not unlike that of the fired Chrysler PR guy who also claimed it was 'a mistake'), that virtually all results for Ocean Marketing and half of those for their Avenger product are now about the flamewar rather than the actual controller, the thing has already become a meme.

Image

More images and also a Twatter conversation on KnowYourMeme include IGN withdrawing the support (which they claim they never offered in the first place) and the Ocean guy responds by calling them douchebags.

Could it be there really is such a thing as bad publicity?

EDIT: Oh shit! Turns out it's nothing new either!

I hate the power switch and the keyboard. I like the size and weight, though.

And the closing bracket, it looks like. What does the power switch do?

And, more importantly, what does Buffy look like on it?

I'm laying in bed and dead tired after getting home from Christmas. Christmas is another place of food and warm rooms and noise. My eyes ate sore with lack of a good night's sleep for some time now, but I feel reluctant to go to sleep because I've been dreaming a lot these past few nights and it's bothersome, so I don't feel relaxed. :/

So, the man the landlord brought around said "the leak in the roof has caused the water to soak through the Walls, into the wardrobe and caused the mould." Which is very good news, under the circumstances as of the roof was fixed in October this would not have happened. I'm in a very good mood now. Thank you agent of the landlord.

If I were starting up a budget perfumery, I cannot help but feel that "cheap smells" is a name I'd avoid like the plague.

It makes it sound like they're trying to cover me in deers arse.

I got a chocolate reindeer from Thorntons and I asked child A to put the box in the bin, he said: "You might need it, if you don't finish it so you have somewhere to keep it for later".... It's like he doesn't even know me.

The plot thickens!

Though "Ocean Marketting/Stratagy" has been dismissed, the grovelling owner and inventor of the Avenger itself has been spotted posting fake, glowing reviews of his product on Amazon and nasty 1 star ones of his competitors, despite exhortations that Internet vigilantes should stop doing the same to him.

The new Avenger PR guy, allegedly in-house, seems to be an illiterate high school DJ. Just as well, since he also doesn't seem to exist either.

Duh.

I did, actually. I recall that it has no volume buttons, and they did mention something about the power button, but I don't think it was that.

NM.

To be honest, it's so fucking cheap it's not even registering in the "new tech I've bought" part of my brain.

That is a fascinating car crash of a marketing disaster.

Although the "Welcome to the internet, bitch. That’s how I roll." line at the end of Dave's (justified) shouty email made me not care who came out of this DRAMAH on top, Gabe's "I will personally burn everything I’ve made to the fucking ground if I think I can catch them in the flames." line was a bit of an eye-opener.

I'd agree, but I think that was the best he could come up with to try and out-douche the supremely angering 'put on your big boy hat' comment, which is possibly the most cunt-ridden piece of smug antagonism I've read online since the fuckhead on Eurogamer who'd call people stuff like 'Sparky' while (not unlike Paul 'Stratagy' here) flip-flopping into "I'm the victim here, you're having a go at me" having successfully baited his target with an outrageously ignorant comment moments before.

And breathe!

(the comments sections relating to this thing are hilarious, if you're going around reading sites about it. One commenter uses the term 'dutch bag')

Sounds like he's using my phone... wonder what my phone would correct it to.

Spicy bag*

*when being less careful, this ended up as "EPIC vag"**

** My phone seems to go off on one if I start a sentence with epic, and I'm quite sure it didn't learn it from me because it's far too impolite. Weird.

And talking of naughty things my phone has done, trying to find out the day of the Superbowl it autocorrected me into searching for cock date.

Fortunately, the results are generally benign. Aside from the Superbowl dick slapping porn

Same here, The Vision.

But! I'm planning on where to go at lunch to spend my £15 Christmas money so it's distracting me from being here. So far it's between Hobbycraft for a model or maybe some acrylic paints or Action Records for some records.

That sounds like a fun way to spend the morning.. but what about the afternoon?

I'm thinking about where to spend my lunch. Either in my car or downstairs in the freezing, abandoned canteen... Except it won't be the car because I've got a grotty pool car while mine is being fixed.

Annoyed! There's so much more stuff I could be doing today.. I've only just started Saints Row 3 and I want to play more of it!

Enjoy!

That does sound like the set-up for the worst sitcom pilot ever though. He's a strict orthodox Jew! She's a fun-loving bonnie Scottish lass! Expect fun, laughter and heart-warming stories when you meet "The McGoldbergs!"
