We got a christmas card off our landladies. I was most bemused.

how do you have landladies? are they... y'know...

No... I don't know.... do elaborate :)

not sure I want to now. *looks around shiftily* ladies who enjoy the company of ladies?

Oh... well it's a mother daughter combo if that helps?*

*around 50 and 80 by my estimate.

Anyway, I'm still going on this, but it's hard - you don't notice how much of a hold Coke has on places until you try not to drink it - it's everywhere. Plus I miss Cherry Coke and Dr. Pepper desperately :(

Greetings from Ireland!

I once had a Thai landlady who sent us champagne at Xmas. That was nice.

It's doing the "heavy snow" thing right now, which is making the "driving" thing quite difficult.

I really shouldn't be posting to BEEX from my laptop while I'm driving either, I suppose. Stupid screen getting in the way of the windshield like that...

It's been raining all day in Stoke too. I'll take that over snow any day though.

The road in front of my house is flooded, but I don't think it's been raining nearly enough to cause that. Fuckety drains?

I laughed the other day to see Winston from Ghostbusters in an episode of 'Criminal Minds'.

Especially when his second line was to say, "We've got to bust this guy!"

Astonishing lenticular clouds over Holmfirth (where I grew up) and Denholme and Leeds today, apparently. I arrived back home ten miles from Leeds, in the dark. I am due in Denholme tomorrow to visit friends.

Why couldn't it have happened then, eh? When I'd have my camera with me and would be out and about in the open. Why? Bastard clouds. >:(

We went out last night and I drank Hobgoblin and a couple of pints of something called 'Ugly Sister'. Then we went to a chav-ridden dive which had a massive air of latent violence. Had super fun times with my brew-buddy though, and he gave me two bottle of his latest creation. I got to sleep about half three and slept until half ten.

Writing a letter to landlord over the recent problems before handing it over to lawyer to redraft. it's going to be a bit odd, given that the person in question is MrsA's ex-boyfriend, so I feel somewhat that I'd better make it good. No pressure at all. I'm keeping it very straight, which is a shame as I wish to use the phrase "contemptuousness masked by a thin veneer of bonhomie".

First draft of shitogram written. Paragraph one is about disrepair, paragraph two is about nuisance and paragraph three lists the issues we've had to contend with so far. Christmas, it's all about the giving. I'm in a good mood now.

I'm glad you've got this off your chest now and can enjoy Christmastime a bit more.

I can't understand landlords that don't want to keep their tenants happy (within reason). I'd be all over work that needed doing that was my responsibility.

Merry Christmas! :)

We've just been to the supermarket for supplies to last us through tomorrow. 4 cans of Bombardier, 7 bottles of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, 1 bottle Blandford Flyer, 2 bottles Golden Glory, 1 bottle Tanglefoot, 6 bottles of Becks. MrsA bought some salad and some satsumas. The weirdo.

Visited my brother in Manchester today with my parents. As we were all together, we figured we'd open our presents early. I was rather impressed with what my brother bought me. I'm not a particularly obsessive Queen fan, or even a big fan of books, but this one is very impressive - just the 30 enclosed extras (like posters and letters) would have been worth it alone.

Yay made it through Christmas alive and finally got to go home, boo got back and missed the start of doctor who and need to wait for it to come on iplayer. Yay parents went "fuck it" and got me amazon vouchers so after 3 years of using a dining chair at my desk I treated myself to a office chair for Christmas. Boo/Yay I have to go through all of this again on the 2nd of January (would be the 28th but my brother is working on the last day of Chanukah)

Hope everyone makes it through with sanity intact.

At my parents, I sat through some X-Factor re-hash, Deal or No Deal and You've Been Framed. When Mum told me about the hour long specials of Emmerdale, Coronation Street and Eastenders, I figured that was a good time to come home. :)

Loads of presents under the tree which was nice, Joans cooked dinner (very nice) and did the dishes. House was quiet in the afternoon though as the boys did their own things, I need a bigger family.

Oh, cat destroyed the tree - it was hysterical! :D

Just played monopoly with The Girl for the first time (the updated boards are much better than I remember in the 80s, banking is much easier) I tried to explain that she needed to buy streets and she told me that she "didn't want that one" so I said "fine then I'll win" fast forward 2 hours and the cow has all the best streets with hotels on them and is refusing to lend me any money to pay the rest of the god damn mayfair rent. :(

My sister's off on a big holiday to New York this year for her 30th so Mrs Bamba and I gave her a couple of hundred quids worth of dollars for Christmas. I handed the card over on the day, she was appreciative: job done.

Text message from my mum this morning: "You do realise you've given Arlene Euros instead of dollars don't you?"

Landlord is sending builders around at twelve tomorrow. This should be a laugh. I've informed MrsA to not speak to him and I'll deal with it all, as she's more than devastated about it all. My new year is going to be full of law talk now, so I'll get the lawyer friend a huge case of beer that we can drink together. Before I take the piss out of him for buying the wrong BMW (330Ci).
