I've just started watching this, getting as far as episode 2 including the pilot*. It's been fairly interesting, but quite run-of-the-mill stuff so far. However! I can see a lot of interesting potential in the premise, and I look forward to what's coming up.

I'm informed by Nirejhenge and vague memories from earlier in this thread that it isn't brilliant near the start, so I'm eager to see how it becomes awesome.

*handily named 'Episode 0', which Miss Malabar ignored and started Episode 1 rolling until I shouted at her. She could never be a computer programmer.

Actually the pilot was not out until things arrived on DVD last year and some of it was cut up into later episodes so expect some repeating sections :-)

It does start out with lots of potential and not going anywhere Season 1 sorta wanders for a while but the last few start picking up and then the final episode of S1 is a strange experience (but very well done - and another that was not shown in the regular season but released on DVD first).

Season two had a few slower episodes at the very start but from about the 4th one in its been great (the next episodes are due in the US this Friday i think)

I believe the final episode is called 'Epitaph: Two' so it should be a continuation of the first season's finale. I hope so.

According to Felicia "Governmentyard's fantasy cockwarmer" Day, she's returning to the series, so I'd imagine so.

If you two watch dollhouse and think that she's the attractive one, you're both utterly broken.

Well, you two are fighting. If you want to get on with the fisticuffs while I get jiggy with the 5+ other hot birds in the show, be my guest.

Because if you pick two, your opinion is diluted and you are not as "worthy".

When asked to pick my three favourite celebrity women recently, my answer was:
1) Holly Willoughby
2) Holly Willoughby when she was on MoM
3) Holly Willoughby when she was pregnant

You could take them out for a spin in your Space Shuttle -- that's impress the knickers right off them.

Oh jesus, he's finishing on a blinder again, this is Serenity level stuff. Just the finale to come, the Epitaph two. It's ending SO WELL. Makes Dr. Who look like Friends.

I like Felicia Day lots. First time I saw her was on Dr Horrible's sing-a-long blog. Which is another fab Whedon thing. Considering I like Felicia rather a lot, it's surprising I don't watch The Guild. I guess it's because there's quite a lot of it and it's difficult getting started. And it's on Youtube, which is a bit annoying. For some reason. I can't wait to watch the next bit of Dollhouse now.

Uhh, you do realise each "episode" is just 2-3 minutes long, right?

So I've been completely loving Dollhouse from the start (I didn't even buy into the 'it's shit until episode six' nonsense) but the ending of s2e11 left me cold as fuck.

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
They are using the 'anyone can be a sleeper/anyone's personality can be in anyone else' thing to get away with anything. They resorted to the kind of cheap tricks that T:SCC did and when that got cancelled I was fairly okay with it as they'd painted themselves into such a corner with all the timelines, that I stopped caring altogether.

If the best they can do is go 'person X is actually a baddie' then I'm really not too bothered that it's ending.

That said, the rest of the episode was fairly awesome.

I like the way Dollhouse has done cliffhangers without them being the heroes/lost style which just makes it feel like what has happened in the episode was rather pointless.

There are *two* episodes left , one more story based one and Epitaph two.

Please dont view this spoiler if you havent seen this weeks episode

With the waiting for the big reveal i thought .... its got to be someone we know , but Boyd wasnt on the list.
I also thought when he was shot and left that he must die because thats why Whiskey is left in the dollhouse in Epitah one - she didnt have anything else to live for.
And the shooting in the head - wow !
Right now all i can think is that Boyd *knows* someone else has the tech and is doing more with it and echo and everything else is a setup to try and stop the end of the world scenareo ?
Or else he's the big bad and i've just not spotted it :-)

The last episode was extremely disappointing.

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
All of the work that was put into Echo's character and then it turns out her imprint denial system is GENETIC. Bah.
Mellie's suicide was cheap and pointless. Unless she's looked at like a casualty of war, I suppose. But I reckon Ballard will be hefting a huge amount of guilt around for the rest of his life
The end was *awful*. I liked the way they used Doll!Boyd's trust to blow up the mainframe, but what large corporation doesn't have offsite backups, ffs?
The brief 'ten years later' was, IMHO, just there to let people know there's still another episode to come and for no other reason

Are they showing Episode 13 on TV or is it going DVD only, like season 1?

See, I thought that

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
It didn't work. They all thought that they'd blown up the mainframe and got away free, but in actual fact they were all imprinted to think they'd done it and then turned loose. Note how Echo was fleeing the building, hot on the heels of an explosion, then was just stood outside. The building was panned over afterwards, and was totally unscratched.

Well having watched it i'm disapointed in the end (although we still have Epitaph II to come).

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
I wonder if Joss actually had this in mind and was going to slowly build up to this or if it was all just a rush job , the final episode seemed really rushed and had lots of things that stood out as just wrong (at least to me).

Echo being immune because of who she was , what about all the other dolls who exhibited behaviour that went back to previous imprints ?

Topher planning and setting up a note for Victor and Sierra seemed out of character for him.
Boyd asking DeWitt to say the words when they already had it on file (and then used them - very clumsy)

If there was going to be more then I'm sure you could have had backup Boyds and things could have kept going but as a last 'story' episode it just seemed to fly by with no planning (lets go blow up a computer somewhere).

Actually i like DavPaz's idea - these last few episodes have not happened and Echo / Victor / Sierra are all still in the Dollhouse.

BTW Topher looks out of his mind in the future for Epitaph one and last week gave us a great reason how this could be - his tech destroying the world and Bennet being killed in front of him (with her blood splatting over him) - yet this week he seemed more normal - so something *else* has to be the cause - which is a pity because it all fitted so well (i guess he's still one of the causes of the destruction but its going to have happened 'off screen')

Actually i think it would have been better not to have this episode - you leave last week and then go straight to the 'future' - who knows how their plans panned out - you just know the world ended at some point between then and the 'future' timezone.

I agree with Zaphod, this did seem a bit anticlimactic in a way. But I did enjoy some of the dialogue, mainly from Topher. There wasn't much other content in the episode.

Not keen on the craster davpaz idea though.

Well whatever they did obviously didn't work. I prefer the idea that they didn't actually do any of that last bit than they just 'missed something'.

Though it would have been cool if Topher had sneaked one of the devices out in his pants and then became ruler of the planet.

Well whatever they did didn't work because as had already been said, the technology couldn't be uninvented. Also the people they were fighting had multiple bodies. They thought taking down that Rossum building took everything down but that was clearly foolish. It was basically that the whole thing was unstoppable and their actions ultimately futile.

See, your answer is basically "They were pillocks". Which is a bit anticlimactic. Mine is more exciting - they were outplayed.

So. The last ever episode...
ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
I... dunno what to think really.

Oh, look! A nice big reset button! Let's give it press and try and wring a happy ending out this beast.

BLAM! Paul's dead, but he lives on (along with over 30 other people) inside Echo's head. Romantic, but slightly creepy. And when was Paul's backup made? Bah, I wish I could just enjoy this shit instead of over analysing it.

It was ok. A proper ending at least. In a few years I'll sit down and watch it through again I reckon and see what I think, but it certainly won't endure the same way that Firefly has (September to December 2002, folks, that's all Firefly got).

Just watched and its an ending , it was better than last weeks and it sorta works at some levels.

Spoilers :

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
Alpha had imprinted Paul onto himself when he killed him and Paul's image was used to rebuild the real Paul into an Active so there would have been images around (although who knows how far back - when they were back at the dollhouse i was wondering if Topher was going to imprint an earlier copy of himself onto someone to help him (or could probably have 'fixed' him to some degree but instead he had to be the sacrifice).

I need to go back and watch Epitah 1 to remind myself what was on the wall that Topher was looking at when the explosion happened (pictures of everyone heading to sanctuary?)

And its not quite a reset button (at least not in the traditional way) , people have their own minds back but who knows how much is missing and the world is pretty much gone - your going back to starting a lot from scratch.

I figured Topher's 'Huh!' as he saw the pictures was him seeing someone he recognised and didn't expect to see (Bennett? Unlikely, but this is a Wheedon show) and it was something of a return to 'sanity'. He seemed almost happy and normal again

After championing this when it came out I'm finally watching it. Only three and a half years late.
It's quite good. Doesn't feel much like Wheedon yet, though. And I get the feeling I shouldn't have watched the pilot.

First half-dozen were crippled by studio interference. That also results in a schizophrenic tone, where we can't decide if we're appalled by how Echo is treated or ogling her in fetish gear and rooting for her to solve the Caper Of The Week. This passes after a while.

The third flower is blue.

Also, and I've been meaning to say this since she first appeared on the screen, but Helo's neighbour Milly is gorgeous. You can keep skinny Echo and Sierra, and I'll have her, cheers.

And then, after another hideously long week at work (with a night off on Wednesday, obv) holding it together at the end was, shall we say, close.

Stand back, slow coach. I claimed her *years* ago.
