The Last Of Us
What is it with me and game...
Reply
Yes, just finished it too. Amazing, just amazing.
This has got to be up there with some of my fav's of all time. I couldn't have asked for a more complete game.

It just goes to show that the true single player campaign has lots of life in it. Right now I couldn't give a toss about your next CoD, Battlefield, social media, multiplayer-fest, co-op, MMO or whatever sticker they want to stick on the back of a box, I just want to play this through on survivor cause I know another game like this won't come around again for a few years.

Or until The Last Guardian comes to make me cry.

I still maintain that making a player feel true sadness is the mark of a great game.

Seems fair to me?
It was the first two levels: training stuff really. I did the majority on hard. Tsk.
Why can't I pick up arrows I've fired at enemies? I can understand them not wanting you to have effectively unlimited ammo, but it's still annoying all the same.
Sometimes you can, I'm not sure if it depends what they hit or if it's just a dice roll.
Y'know if you miss but it hits something soft(ish) you can. If you hit, say, a fence or car tyre you can pick them out.
Half the time you can retrieve them from corpses too.
Yeah, I found it was simply the case that sometimes the arrows break when they hit something and sometimes they don't. If they don't, you can pick them back up.
Maybe it was because I'd fired them into a concrete wall.
Game website appears to be down at the moment, but you can get a PS3 for £90...

http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/preowne ... im-1596712

So if you only wanted to play this game, I expect it would be easy to get your money back afterwards via ebay.

p.s. this code will also bag you a Vita, with 8Gb card and 10 game mega pack, for £150.
Finished! One of the best games I've played on the PS3...And the only one :D
Na, defiantly easily the best game I've played in the last 12 months.

That's only because you haven't played Noby Noby Boy.

(Caution: Noby Noby Boy mat actually be crap)

FeeX.
I set the freesat box to record the "new" season on five*.

I really really don't want to watch it.

Is Season 3 that bad? I enjoyed Season 2.

Season Three is fantastic.
Yeah, Walking Dead has basically got better as it progressed; bik is being pretty wrong here.
Glad to hear it.
I thought S3 was pretty lame, but I'm happy to concede it was better than S2.

About half way season 2 I was considering dropping it as it was boring my tits off then it rallied massively and finished well. Season 3 though gripped me throughout.
Not knowing how long the books were, I watched s1 thinking it was self contained (and would end differently).

Then started on the book.

Picked up s2 part way through and quickly dropped it (the zombie down the well episode was unbearably bad).

Tempted to go back to it, mind, as it'll be better watched at my leisure than weekly.

It might be worth just reading a plot summary of S2 and going straight in to S3 as I felt it was much better and there's more chance you'd properly enjoy it than having to pick back up with a season you'd already dropped out of.
Whichever the last terrestrial channel broadcast bored me near to tears. And not teats, as I typed first and narrowly avoided posting.
S2 gripped me all the way through - it felt incredibly tense and claustrophobic (which was understandable considering the budget cuts that were made). Glad they've finished with that location now though.

Waiting for S3 Blu-ray to come out so I can watch it at leisure.
Every time I see this topic jump up to the top I think people are talking about The Last of Us.

Topic nazi.
Mmm Topics.

Poor man's lion bar though.

What? They're miles better (and actually more expensive, per lb) than Lions.
Having a Topic in your lunchbox was akin to wearing Gola trainers.
Any of you knobs got a PS3 yet so you can play this?

I've had a PS3 for years, I just don't have this game. I'm going to pick it up when I finish De Blob 2 though.

Have you ever eaten a Topic? They were, and remain, the best chocolate bar.

That's like saying I'll dine on this fine rare fillet steak after I've smeared myself with sewage.

Not literally.

Eh, I'm really enjoying De Blob 2. Its pretty repetitive of course but in small doses it's very charming and the central mechanic is good fun. Also, running around each level mopping up the challenges when you finish the main objectives is very relaxing. I suspect I'll get bored of it before I finish it, which is fine, but until then I'm happy to play it out before I move onto the next thing.

I haven't missed you by the way.
So anyway, that The Last of Us... What's that "Factions" about? Is it co-op missions, multiplayer deathmatch shit or what, aye? I've dismissed it as multiplayer deathmatch shit but the trophy says complete all missions. Have I missed a trick or summats?
Thought I'd give it a bash.

Ooh, this is a pretty decent TDM. Nice and slow on some maps from the game. Lovely.
ME LIKEY.

4 on 4 with a mix of small and medium maps. The small maps are tense affairs with loads of sneaking about waiting for the team to move out position, while the medium maps allow for some ace stealth flanking. Guns are loud; bows are for ace-folk.

You really fucking have.
Should rename this thread to "Chat about anything except The Last Of Us".
You should see the 3DS thread. Really, you should. It's mental.

That's our lazy mods not splitting out the Animal Crossing stuff.
You're right, it is. Will get on that. While simultaneously derailing this thread further.
So, what are we talking about today then? What about the Wimbledon final eh?

It was mint.

But also Tic Tacs.
