Erk.

What sort of car Grim...? A racer of some type?

Indeed, a Land Rover-based Tomcat. Richard Hammond raced a jet-powered canoe in one on Top Gear, if you saw that episode.

Aewesome looking machine, mind. How many man hours do they reckon to build it? And is Sam big enough to help yet?

Nice Grim... I'm sure you'll have lots of fun KILLING THE PLANET you BASTARD. Seriously looks like it should be loads of fun, unless you're crap at building things in which case it will probably be your fiery death-trap.

I'm also happy today because it's been confirmed that this thing is coming to my local skatepark:

No too happy that I'll probably end up having to help put it back together again though.

It's going to cost about £4 grand max. Man-hours: not a clue.

Lots, I reckon. Caterham kits take skilled mechanics 70-100 hours to put together and they are practically made when you buy them -- all wiring harnesses and brake lines etc are in the chassis. You're really just bolting bits on.

It's just a roll-cage with a fiberglass body fitted onto a 100" Land Rover rolling chassis.
60 hours, reckon.

Oh. That's a lot less cheap, then, if you have to supply the Land Rover 100, engine etc.

If Grim... proceeds to post here all the stuff he's been telling me in IM about the garage he can get access to, people are going to be sick. Richer than GOD HIMSELF indeed.

And I'm not allowed to. The contents and location of that garage are rather secret, and if you saw what was in it, you'd know why.

I like Fern on the right there. I don't like Holly (is it Holly?) on the left. I have both those colour DSs.

Facts. Concise, no waffle.

Indeed!

Holly is acebest. She's capable of making type things I would never say to people in real life. She is lovely.

Mimi, get Fern to arrange a date for me and Holly and I'll forgive you.

Hoorah I've found a use for the comedy keyboard and mouse that came with my Mac Pro.

The new Macbook Pro gets so hot when editing that it's just better to use the little wireless keyboard. I don't need it for full typing, just keyboard commands so it's ideal.

I'm using the mouse as well, although I still find that a chore. But I wanted to give it a second chance, + despite this being a machine that cost over a grand, Apple have been stingy with the USB ports.

Well I've not been doing that badly this week. Phone chats with a "dragon" and a meeting today with two dancers from Strictly Come Dancing (I don't watch the show so don't ask for details as I simply don't know).

I'm usually up at about 8, Mali :) Today I am making more DS cases and I am going to make a new design that is in my head.

Also, my whole family have decided to descend on Lancaster (my two little brothers by invite, my big brother by some kind of pleading self-invite, so there's that to sort out (Richard, the elder brother, seems to have gotten a job up here, details are a bit sketchy to say the least) Hummmm, and I need to clean and tidy up, too.

What about you Mali? A more interesting day than me?

Am awaiting herself to rise and shine, although the appearance at 11pm with a wony smile and a bag of chips amused me. Then, tidy garden and garage, sort through sunglasses that need to be sent to Oakley for fixing, might do some GTA4, but aside from that, enjoying the sun. And trying to get a mate to come up and visit, but they are being crap over it.

My plan for the day originally consisted of working, but thanks to being woken up by a mini-earthquake* last night, I'm now sleepless for the second night running and am currently wandering my flat like Stubbs the Zombie.

* the fuckwits upstairs walking** around their flat at 1am, drunk as skunks. The walls in my bedroom were shaking, there's something wrong when that happens.

** stomping, it's like they're constantly wearing military boots or something
