The idea that 5 Holds would be a good result for Labour in Scotland is an amazing turn of events.

Quite, but it's a common opinion that twitter as a whole is left wing, isn't it?

Yep, but they don't quite match the exit polls. UKIP stronger than expected in the north. If they can become a viable alternative to Labour up there then we're all fucked.

Sounds like UKIP are thundering through Labour votes.

Which is weird. Why go from (ostensibly) left wing to far right?

Are people really that scared of the immigrant boogeyman?

Both ends of the extremes have more in common with each other than the more accepting and liberal left and right of middle.

UKIP are picking up the traditional Labour working class vote that feels abandoned by the current middle class party.

To be expected again. UKIP up, but not by as much, everyone up, apart from lib Dems. Maybe their exit poll could be right?

BBC just said there is no recount but gorgeous George likely to have lost.
If so, he's going to resurface. Tower Hamlets, perhaps?

Curious thing about the Lib Dems is that at each election since 1992 their share of the vote went down, whilst their number of seats went up. Not this time!

Another 80 years in the wilderness awaits!

Assuming the figure given was the middle of the confidence interval, it wouldn't be impossible.

I got the impression that they stated result at SD, but thought it could be +5/-20 (for example), and now they're reversing the deviation. I expected backtracking on the Exit at some point - not in that direction.

I remember an episode of the 'News Quiz' from about 15 years back where Jeremy Hardy made the point that Scotland will leave the Union, then Wales will, then England will, at which point we can say to the Ulster Unionists:
'Ha, you're on your own!'
