It really sucks. I don;t know if I can formally complain about CAFCAS, but I don;t want to piss them off, as they now need to do another report!!

Bad spelling, maternity leave...

Swings n roundabouts dude. Mostly isn't completely and you'll sell it eventually...Still shit right now though! :DD I'm over £200 a month worse off than I was only 6 months ago due to tax and pension stuff :(

Indeed, but if I hadn't had the interest rate rise i'd be quids in! :D

It's more annoying that the house is in negative equity so I can't do anything to fix it, I just have to go with one of the two options they give me. My only consolation is that i've moved on to a fixed rate for the next 3 years (5.49%) instead of the SVR I was on before (3.49%) so while it is a fair bit more expensive, at least I no longer have the stress of the rates rocketing in the next few years and spiking the SVR.

If I could shop around I would, but I certainly don't have the deposit cash to be able to switch to another lender!

Bloody houses, more trouble than they are worth.

There will come a point where the rental income exceeds the mortgage, hopefully at some point in the next 10 years! When that happens i'll probably want to keep the house! :D I'm currently ploughing £400 a month into it due to the difference between the mortgage payments and rent I can get, but my only other option is to flog the house for £30k under what I currently owe, which for obvious reasons isn't an option!

Indeed, I get screwed over at every budget.

In the whole and in context I can't complain as i'm hardly starving and get paid a fair whack, but today is not the day to be thinking like that, today is the day to be raging against the machine :D

Kovacs that's crap. Lisa is messing Darryl about again too, but his solicitor has advised him to wait until he has finished his training to see how it goes, he's not available for CAFCAS meetings during the week you see. This means I'm on Chloe duty on Fridays, which I don't mind obviously, but it's not a practical permanent arrangement by any means.

So then, today I decided, for whatever reason, to dust off my old Apple Powerbook and see if it still works. And aside from a fucked battery and fucked PRAM battery (not too surprising considering this laptop is nearly 8 years old), it's still working a treat! I'm typing this up on it now! In fact, so pleased am I that it's working so well that I've just spent £40 on a new battery (I can probably live with the fuxx0red PRAM battery for the time being).

So far, so yay!

Until I decided to set up my Gmail with Apple's Mail program, and noticed an unread message in my Drafts folder. "Bit strange", thinks I. "I don't remember saving any incomplete messages. I wonder how long that's been sitting there?"

Turns out it's been sitting there a week. Remember from the 'selling a car on eBay' thread that I'd received an offer for my car? Well I replied to it a little later in the evening with a counter offer and have been stewing ever since because I never received any kind of reply. Well, this will be why. They never received my reply in the first place.

Seriously, seriously, FFS!

Anyway, I have sent them a very embarrassed apology in the hope they might still be interested.

Gah!

At work yesterday someone emailed me a new file, which I then spent the day populating with data and doing general work on.

In a tired, dazed state at the end of the day, I closed the file and saved it. A few minutes later I shut down the PC, and in doing so closed Outlook. This popped up a brief mesage saying the attachment to an email had changed, and did I want to save these changes? I automatically clicked on 'No'.

That's lost a day of work, then!

I assume you've searched for files on the machine updated yesterday in case there was an auto-saved version somewhere in a temp folder ? (and you know you can have most programs do an auto-save every X number of minutes in case you do that again)

It's awkward because I connect via Citrix, so there's nothing actually stored on my machine. I've checked my personal drive on the network, and there's nothing that would match to what I did. Excel autosaves all the time, and I sepcifically saved that document several times, but because I had it open as an attachment from an email, it must have been saving it as some sort of temporary file, so no matter how many times I saved it, until I used 'Save As...' and threw it into another folder, it was able to be completely wiped by closing the initial email I opened it from, and clicking "Don't save changes". Which seems awfully lame.

If anyone knows a way to salvage it, that would be great, but I'm not very hopeful right now.

Gah!

There should be a copy somewhere in the Outlook Temp folder, but whether Citrix clears that out or not, I'm not sure.

Or maybe your downloads folder? I would have thought everything you did up until what you did between the last save you made and telling it not to save the changes, would be on your machine somewhere?

If it was excel, can't you just hover over the excel programme icon in the start menu and get to your file that way? It keeps track of your recent files for easy access, I assume.

Also: You are a numpty.

Fanx you and I did think about asking on here but I found a very cheap one on ebay and without testing I'm not sure if it's my 360 finally giving up the ghost. I've had it from the first month of release and this is the first time anything has ever gone wrong, which must be some sort of record. I've noticed that the fan on it is now nearly unusably loud so it could go one way or the other.

Well if it is the machine, I have one going for postage cost only. The only catch is that it was taken apart about four years ago and hasn't been touched since, so you'd have to install the new DVD drive (included), flash the firmware, and put it back together.

I'm probably going to end up just chucking it otherwise.

Looks like we're not going to be selling our flat this year. Have two people apparently interested, both of whom are fucking around, and our threat of put up or shut up hasn't ellicited any action.

Comes off the market on Thursday, and we won't be putting it back on until spring. Still, next time around the money may not be so much of an issue. Over four months of fucking around to no end result sucks though.

That bit didn't actually concern us. We were always going to use full packers and movers, and in the past 6 months we've cleared all the shit out of our house - the exercise of moving itself was going to be relatively straightforward. In fact, moving with a child that is unable to move is a shit ton less daunting than one who is learning how to walk.

I am now very seriously having regrets about spending £40 on a laptop battery for my old PowerBook G4, just so I can eBay it. The existing battery was flashing up the 'Warning: Running on reserve power' thing the second you unplugged it from the mains, and pushing the charge level button on the battery itself showed how it was going from full to one single flashing LED in about 3 minutes.

However, I've now been running it off that battery, with the LED flashing away and with the battery meter in Mac OS X showing 0% remaining and 0 minutes of charge left, for about 45 minutes now.

Bollocks.

Pfft. Stupid boobies. Had lots of groping, then an ultrasound, then a biopsy. I wasn't really expecting that and it has become more painful than I thought it would be as the anaesthetic has worn off.

Back in a week for the results. Although, the ultrasound biopsy Dr. said it would probably be something they'd want to take out,. He said it wasn't a cyst but he didn't tell me it wasn't 'something else'.

After I had the scan and biopsy I went back to the specialist and she said any growth was most likely to be benign because of my age blah, blah. But I'm not feeling as good about it as I did. I know they don't jump straight in with worst case as that would be silly but each person I've seen gives me progressively worse news about what it might be. I'm still mostly sure it's nothing serious but a little less sure than I was.

I was also under the impression I'd get a line drawn under it today, they said on the letter to allow up to 4hrs for the appointment as they like to give you your results on the day. But they can't if they take a biopsy so now I have to wait :( which sucks.
