I may have asked this before, but why do UK people re-enact the US Civil War, rather than the Crimean War or the Indian Mutiny or the Opium Wars or the Maori Wars or one of the other various wars we were involved in at the same time? Seems odd to re-enact another countries civil war.

There are a more movies about it than those other wars, like what the feller in the article says.

Yeah, HD TVs are cheap as chuff now! My parents picked up a 40-odd" Samsung a couple of months ago for less than £500, and it's absolutely brilliant. I paid a little bit less than they did for a 26" Samsung three years ago :'(

Fitted sheets are slightly awkward, as they're never quite the right fit; even the ones from Ikea don't seem to be a perfect fit for mine, but I may be a complete 'tard. It's a lovely mattress, though.

Thinking about it, re-enacting the Indian Mutiny might well raise a few eyebrows.

I have a 24" Dell monitor i'm planning to use, which before I bought the iMac was such a nice screen. Now it looks bland and blurry in comparison! I would love to use the uberlovely iMac monitor, but it looks like it's going to cost £100+ to be able to use a compromised solution, so that can fuck right off...

I took the day off yesterday to drive my gf up to Silverstone for a Lambo Gallardo driving experience I bought her for her birthday. She loved it, but I couldn't help but feel amused watching my beloved go from regularly driving her Peugot around like a mental on a mission to driving a Lambo like a granny on a pleasant Sunday drive. She topped it out at 110 mph, bless her.

They aren't -- the Ikea metric mattress sizes (200cm long, 140/160/180 wide) are what they use in continental Europe. The UK's imperial measurement sizes are the odd ones out. I am now going to blame mattress sizes when I get told off for this. Apparently, I often sleep on my back with my feet tucked up so my knees are up in the air I was always sure I slept on my tummy.

It's possible, but needs an electrical doohicky convertor box for not cheap monies to make it work. Cables alone don't do it, due to some SCIENCE type reason involving packets and lines.
