Hmm, well you didn't get it with the special edition that's for sure. And sorry for not accepting an invite earlier in the week, I was kicking ass when I received it, then forgot about it. Think it was Poikies who invited me.

A nice introduction to this from Dimrill, Mr Dave and later on Meaty and Pundabaya. Shame I won't be able to play again until the weekend. :'(

Been a while since I played this but enjoyed it last night. Managed to unlock a few more goodies, progress from level 4 to LEVEL 5 ( :metul: ) and got the 'Careful Guidance' cheezo!

Does anyone fancy a late game tonight? I'll be on about 11 depending on when the lady gets tired on our Wire marathon.

I've yet to beex it up much which depresseses me.

Had an epic game earlier, playing rush on Arica Harbour on defence, clocked up 33 kills, 3500 points, and another 2000 on medals... using an assault class, M14 and Rex revolver.

Conversely having had a belter the day before I played a couple of games yesterday and completely munged my k/d ratio. Finished the first game 0 / 6. Ouch.

Worst was getting in a chopper and manning a gun only for the pilot to fly straight out of the area with no chance of getting back. Brilliant.

I'm loving the pure Stabbiness of this game. Its so much fun to run into a squad of baddies and knife them all up before they realise i'm not one of them. I keep switching between XM8 and MG36, of which i like the sight.
excellent game last night, not seen many BEEX on for a while???

Some good games today with the BeeX squad - I really must reign in my kamizake healing medic tendencies though - "You're Alive - Oh I'm Dead".

Mmm. 440 points for camoflage isn't exactly what I'd call a good deal.

Oh definitely - I've got some way to go to get hold of all the weapons although I have got all my specialisations now.

As it's my birthday weekend I reckon I can negotiate some time on-line.

I just ordered this. I've had a huge disinterest in gaming lately so I am hoping this could revive it. If not there's always more gardening.

Is the single player good?

Average at best. It's not a patch on the first game.

The multiplayer is excellent, though.

Multiplayer really is quite lovely, single player was mildly amusing and quite varied, but ultimately average.

But it's better than Modern Wankfare 2 right? I mean fuck I got about 5 hours out of that for my £25.

MW2 single player was better than BFBC2s.

Then switch it around for multiplayer.

I find it a lot more laid back than MW2. There's more to do than shooting people in the face and you don't have to worry about all that kill streak stuff or gobshites shouting abuse.

True. It's great just running to an embattled position where snipers are holding off the enemy, dropping med-kits or ammo and hoofing it back again. And the big maps and constant drive really make it feel as if you're slowly pushing the enemy back up a valley under fire and artillery, locked in a grim struggle. Only not crap and *agh dead respawn agh dead respawn* but rather a constant satisfying chipping away at their defences and taking strongpoint after strongpoint.

I reckons the multiplayer be fab. Plus knife kills are incredibly satisfying.

I might actually be tempted to play this as MP then. I only paid £14.99 del from Amazon so it's not the end of the world if I don't like it.

It really is a superb MP game.
it is starting to bug me how much spwan killing there is, particularly on the Rush levels.
players insist on sneeking behind the defenders spawn zone on the maps and pestering the defenders, leaving the attackers free to take out the M-Comm stations. It really is very irritating.
but as previously mentioned, it can be a very rewarding game if played with a good squad.
I might be on tonight, add me if you like.

oh, and i totally agree that knifing is very, very good. makes a nice meaty slicing sound. awesome

I installed it today between coats of fence paint and played a couple of levels.

Initial thoughts are as follows -

It's gorgeous. The shadows and detail are just sublime. I don't know if this is down to it being DX11 but hey, looks really nice.

It's fucking hard. Probably because you can't really hunker down anywhere and sometimes you just don't stand a chance, but fuck me is it hard. I am finding the Russian snow level to be really fucking annoying because you can't see fuck all when the snow blows up yet still seem to get your head thwacked left right and center with bullets. Why? If I can't fucking see how can they see me? Due to this I am moving along at a snails pace. Good thing? probably, at least it should last a wee while longer than MW2.

I am getting really bad motion sickness from it due to the irritating bobbing when you walk or run. Even more irritating is the fact that the gun end wiggles and makes me feel really fucking ill after about two minutes. As thus I won't be able to play this game for long periods of time.

So over all right now I am not exactly sold on this game but time will tell I guess :)

Don't judge the game solely on the single player, as it's shit compared to the multiplayer. The enemies have a weird omniscience, just like in the first, and it's seriously annoying; I didn't find it quite as bad, but certainly still present.

I sent out a few emails to some PC loving chums this morning and hope to try this as MP later. I just hope I can get past this motion sickness thing. Oddly I was suffering with it yesterday too but put it down to being in the car with the sunlight flashing through the trees. Maybe I am just coming down with something?

*sighs with happiness*. This is one of those wow moments. I don't many of these any more but this level is just incredible. The way the light flickers and filters through the trees and almost makes your face glow as you walk through the shadows into the glow of the fire.

I'll no doubt die loads of times in this level for taking in the scenery. God bless DX11 :luv:

I've just noticed something else that's pretty shite. Your team mates don't actually shoot any actual people, leaving it all to you. Seriously you could sit there an hour and you will still be getting fired at.

I love this game. It's totally stolen all of the best ideas from other games and put them all together into one. I just completed the snow level where you have to do a Crysis (get into warm houses or freeze to death). I really liked that level in Crysis so I enjoyed the one in this equally. Especially as this didn't involve any gangly stupid annoying alien spooge that Crysis did.

Am now on my way into Chile and loving every moment.

At first the difficulty took me by surprise, but then I suppose I forgot just how easy MW2 was. This game is much harder but I am beginning to really like that.

It was a walk in the park on the hardest setting (hard?). Whereas I'm only playing MW2 in a few levels at a time on veteran, as it's essentially be quick or be dead & my nerves would be shot if I tried it in a wanny.

Of all the criticism you could lay on MW2 easy isn't one of them. Unless you played on easy, normal or at a push even hardened.

Hardened. I just found it easy and short. I am using a mouse though, so no doubt that would make targets much easier to hit. I only really remember having trouble with one level and that was the hide behind the tanks bit on the oil rig. Also with MW2 cover was easy to find. In this game it's not, especially as most of it can be blown up around your ears.

Try playing CoD4 on veteran Coffy. Then you'll know what a hard game is.

BC2 was pretty easy on the harder difficulties. I havent completed it on hard, but that's just because I really couldn't be bothered to play through the story again. Whereas I wanted to on MW2.

Got most of the way through on Hard - some bits are tricky, but mostly once you've got to grips I'd call it more a Medium setting. There was one bastard bit with a chopper in the old desert fort that kept creaming me with deadly pointy metal spunk over about twenty attempts.

The multiplayer is breathtaking, but I keep having gaps in not playing it, forgetting what I've learnt and getting slaughtered for the first couple of rounds again. Tsk. And the graphics are indeed lush, but let's not talk about those! ;)

I once shot an Apache down with a simple RPG in multiplayer that was causing trouble to my side. I wept with pride.

MW2 wasn't too bad on Veteran I didn't think. CoD 4 however :'( I still haven't completed it, got to No Fighting In The War Room and can't get further.

I got to the bit where you've got to run back to the barn then run back again down to the bottom on CoD4. I got stuck and gave up.

If I remember correctly from reviews COD4 was said to be stupid. Not hard, but stupid. I don't like stupid games. Firm but fair flies better with me :)

I disliked that bit even on Normal. That was the point at which I finally gave in and dropped it to easy.

Generally speaking though I don't like games that apply a time limit, particulary if it's tight like that one as.
