If any Assassin's Creeds are in the top 50 I'm going to say words at you.

The votes will be split so they won't get a look in. :(

They could do better in the "Constructors' Championship"

Hmmm... This is difficult. There's a definite top 10 but then we have several games sharing the same spot. Let's see what I can do.

If they're level on points then surely the ones with the most 1sts, then 2nds etc are ranked higher?

Yeah, I'm looking at that now but there's a number of games that had 25 points awarded which all fall into the top 50.

We could have done with more votes but let me have a look. I'm trying to do it in between working.

That did happen the last time so the games at the very end of the list were some peoples 'top' game but got no other votes

(Original list number 50 was Hyper Sports which was my top rated game that time around - the list was tweaked later as some other things were grouped together)

Of those 7 games, only 2 were released in the last generation.

Is that after cutting them with 'number of 1st place votes > number of 2nd place votes > number of 3rd place votes" ?

If so then we have 7 games which are all equal 19th

Yep. 19th place on our list is the magical '25 points' spot so, if you gave something 25 points and no one else voted for it then it will appear in 19th place.

:-)

So assuming your doing this in a spreadsheet - what happens if you twist things around a little and have everyones points go back to 10.

So top choice = 10 / second = 9 etc so any of the other titles come up above that place ?

I do appreciate that someones top score is an important place but that's one person whereas if 4 peoples number 7 choice (6 points) ends behind them then that doesn't quite seem right ?

Not sure I agree. Assuming nobody has done a joke list, then a game that may be the absolute best in its genre, but maybe that genre isn't that widely played, has to be better than a more mediocre game in a genre that is more widely played, does it not?

I dont think given that people were restricted to 10 items that we'll get mediocre titles on here I do think that if an item is on there with 25 points and is not a single persons vote then it should be higher (personal opinion) and think for overall we can have :

Leave it as it is and yes we have all those at number 19 - so what
Tweak the numbers slightly and you'll move those possibly further back (10 points 1st 9 2nd etc) but you'll still have a group together - the last time round that group was around the 45 - 50 mark
Some other way to vote those out of that position - perhaps give everyone that list of 7 items and get people to vote for those ?

Or, now that there's a clear top 25, we vote again, knowing that we need to cast our votes for those games that are actually in contention.

I've compiled the top 20 and shall aim to post it this evening. I don't think a top 50 is feasible with the votes I've received.

That seems fair enough. It wouldn't be a good reflection if the turnout was low.

I'm compiling my own list. With hookers. And heroin. And the big list of our favorite games in our profiles.

Finished! There's an advantage to having all the answers already in a database.

It'll be (a tiny bit) interesting to see how they compare. I've got ten in my list, and 8 of them are in second position :D

This is like that time Robbie Williams won best album ever.

Surprisingly large drop for Resi 4.

Can't believe that Try Not To Fart didn't make it.

Tsk - Cookie you were suppose to vote for the best COD as well so it would make the list (COD7 was second in my list so just a few extra points would have put it somewhere into the top 20)

I noticed that one.

I'm going to put it down to fewer people voting though.

I bet Dark Souls 2 wouldn't feature in a couple of years though.

Yeah, the sample size is so small it's pretty much useless, tbh. Thanks for trying though, Vision.

Dark Souls 2 has only just been released, and isn't as good as dark Souls anyway.

And frankly, I'm doubtful anything will ever be released that I think is better.
