I was looking for something small (OK, it would have been very small) to get you to say thankyou once, but I realised that you had talked about owning a lot of the stuff on there already and that it probably had a lot of stuff on it that you had already bought yourself.

Oh, this was some time (about a year or so) ago, but I know that you had a game on there that you definitely already owned at the time as you had been talking about it, so I thought that some of the other stuff was probably duplicates of what you already owned. There was less on there at the time, too, so maybe that stuff has been removed.

I usually try and keep something of about £5 on there - a small paperback book or something small but fun just in case a passing reader decides to send a treat.

I only put the game and Kindle on mine as something for me to aim towards saving for. I didn't ever expect anyone to buy either, let alone both. t's a shame you can't add kindle books to the wishlist

Going slightly off-topic here, but has anyone tried the new Universal Wishlist from Amazon yet? You can put anything from any site on there, allegedly.

I've converted myself back to Tapatalk for the last week or two. Jumping to first unread works almost flawlessly; it'll occasionally start jumping to the last post, and like ForumRunner I put it down to a login issue and just back out, re-access the forum, and everything is fine again. This happens nowhere near as frequently as ForumRunner.

Overall, it's much nicer to use now than when I last tried. It crashes infrequently, and only ever when the cellular connection is hopping about; searching and PMs work, as do forum attachments. Some links don't get parsed properly, but not many, and spoiler tags don't work, but neither are a major problem.

Any chance you can update the Forum Runner plugin when you can arsed, and assuming it isn't too much hassle, Grim...?

I think most of it works now - I'm changing active topics at the moment, and then I think that's it (of the "normal" stuff, anyway).

Pass. The message is less than helpful, and there doesn't seem to be a debug option for me to find out.

forum runner seems to have problems with multitasking, then it gives parse errors

Using the mobile site when I click on first unread post it takes me to the first post of the thread.

Just click on the topic name.

So Tapatalk on Android... is it worth using yet?

I've switched to Tapatalk on iPhone, but it still blanks a post out completely if it contains a link.

ForumRunner is doing my head in lately. It seems every new version of both it and Tapatalk do nothing but introduce more bugs, and there's obviously no easy way to revert versions. I wish people were competent.

I don't *think* this happens to me...

I've gone off using tapatalk - kept on crashing on me. I just wait till I am by a PC to logon to the forum now. Only downside is that I can't really put my name down for Mafiascum now because I may not read the forums for a few days or a week.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the new mobile site. I use this daily with no issues. These apps are all pretty superfluous, imo (plus my phone doesn't have them ).

I agree, bar a few game-breaking points:

1. On a small screen, I hate being scrolled to the top when I go back to the index. I like my state to be saved.
2. You can't upload files through the web site, because iOS is stupid.
3. The mobile site always fucked up the font sizes when I last used it, possibly because iOS is stupid.
4. Scrolling to the right unread post was always a bit flaky for me on the mobile site for some reason.

Most of those could probably be fixed if there was a good JavaScript theme for the forum, but that's probably an awful lot of work, and still probably wouldn't be as smooth as a native app.

But it does infuriate me how shite ForumRunner and Tapatalk are. And forum software itself in general.

3 and 4 have been resolved with the new site. 1 is you being finicky. 2 is a reasonable point, though.

No, 3 And 4 are still problems. 3 happens when people post images that break through the page width and 4 happens a lot with posts from people on your foe list.

Forum Runner also has a nice full-screen photo viewer on iOS.

Nor much problems with forum runner, prefer it a lot above mobile site, only the multitasking parse error bug remains..

Images are squished so they don't break the forum (not that they do on Androids anyway), and I love everyone so I don't have the foe problem.

Do you get this error when you launch the app while it's still in the multitasking memory?

Hmm, maybe it's something to do with my login, then. I get one about a PM unable to be found every time now, too.

That appears to be a new feature this week. I don't use Forumrunner for anything else, maybe the Beex plugin is out of date.

I've never been able to access PMs using ForumRunner - another reason I made the move to Tapatalk. I'd go back though.

Neither PMs nor Search work for me, but Tapatalk crashed an awful lot which obviously trumps missing/broken minor features.

Whereas, of course, the mobile skin neither crashes, nor has broken features.
