I've not seen them before (at least in order). All the bitches are well hot!

Janice is my favorite.

Friends is amazingly good fun and quite touching at times too.

It has its crap moments (as does any series that ran for that length of time), but overall, it's a win.

The first couple of series are good, assuming you don't like black people.

I was on the double vodka Red Bull last Saturday. I must've had about seven of them (after beer, you understand - I'm hardcore). I slept fine when I got home, but could I fuck get to sleep the following night, despite being really tired.

I'm drunk on sobriety right now. I'm glad it's 2am, or people would be getting hurt.

Instead, I'll try going to bed.

It's very fashionable to knock Friends, but I'll always maintain that it was far sharper written than most people give it credit for, and boasted at-times-great comic performances, particularly from Perry and (later on) LeBlanc.

But touching? No. Saccharine and sentimental, sure. But for me, the attempts at drama were thinly written and heavy-handed in execution.

I'd go along with that in a lot of cases (the whole fucking monkey thing with Ross was dreadful when it wasn't just about funny monkey things), but once in a while I think it really hit the mark.

At its funniest though, I think it's amongst the best comedy I've ever seen.

Ross descending into insanity in later series amused me greatly.

I also think Friends was great, not that I appreciated it at the time.

Ross ended up being brilliant! I forget the exact episode, but there was a really awkward one in his flat where he was being ok with (I'm guessing) Rachel moving on. And his being 'ok' was just insane.

Plus: 'my sandwich'.

Awesome posts there Grim... mate, made me heartily laugh out loud over my breakfast. Man + lots of beer + toilets = awesome, fertile ground for my kind of humour. :D

(Friends though? Not so much. I never could stand more than 2 mins of it, personally).

I've warmed to it in later years, partly thanks to DocG. There are some truly great moments but also a few episodes where you change the channel as soon as you realize which one it is. Certainly compared to a lot of US sitcom output, it's pretty good.

"I'm Monica. I'm disgusting. I sleep with guys and steal their underwear."

"Want me to get in the bathtub and thrash?"

You said more or less what you did above to me, and so I tried to approach it with more of an open mind and less of 'that stupid thing we watch when there's nothing else on.'
