I don't want to whip all this up again, but we're indirectly mentioned on today's posting:

Whoever Ram Raider is, he must be the only person on the internet to agree with the Rev on the whole business. Unless... :attitude:

You might expect us to criticise him for this, but we’re not going to. He charges his readers a couple of quid a month for the right to read his work, get emailed stuff, and to make new posts on his forum. For a writer to destroy a vibrant fan base by trying to cut out the middle man is nothing short of idiocy.
Fixed that for them. Regardless of where you stand on the ongoing politics (and although I hold a strong position on that I don't particularly want to read or write about it any more), I think it's inarguable that Stu's introduction of charges has badly damaged the WoS forum.

I was a subscriber, yet I didn't care in the slightest about his freebies, nor did I ever read the main site. I was happy to chip in a couple of quid a month just to support the place. I cancelled as soon as he first announced his ridiculous plans to limit access.

Still, this is a pretty exhausted debate now. Let's get back to being excellent.

Got to love the accusing people of things they haven't done, accusing them of lying, when you know they have no right to reply though. Classy.

Presumably he's hoping if he calls it a lie several times he'll magically not have deleted posts and that thread where he announced the change then deleted all dissent's original version will magically disappear from rapidshare.

His accusations against BEEX though are of course complete lies, no non-banned member ever had a posted deleted on here, merely posts were deleted when people re-signed up when banned, which you'd expect.

I think it's more he misses us... after all said forum has precisely 2 updated threads so far today, and one of those is Anthony Flack taking a shot at Stu in the News thread.

I'll say that again, FLACK is taking shots at Stu...

Which since the split (where he promised more content) has consisted of 2 reprints from Imagine mags that I have on good authority are illegally reproduced, a few pictures and a nicer version of an article we've already had.

That's your £6 worth. There's more new content in an issue of OXBM and at least they know how to give a 2/10 properly and give you a shiny demo disk.

I guess this'll have to be replied to here.

No-one said it wasn't tricky. But it's hardly a surprise that the forum where you're allowed to argue... has arguments... and there's the odd tricky decision.

Of course here it was posted in a thread and people were allowed to respond. And virtually every other thread remained untouched.

Then don't read the very occasional thread about it. I really can't understand this viewpoint. 1 thread a week (at the very outside) means you don't want to read anything on the site.

That just doesn't even make sense.

Part of the newly found freedom to post things includes a small background of bickering, it always will. There are 27 threads here with new-non-bitchy replies in since midnight. I know you don't have the free time to finish them.

On WOS that score is 0, 1 at the outside if you count Flack's comment in the news thread, which you probably shouldn't.

Quite right.

Any further conversation on this subject would be better on WoS, not here (sorry I started it, my bad).

Right - back to talking about Ram Raider, please (except for the couple of posts that were probably being written while I was typing this).

Not really, especially as we were attacked first here remember.

Again, if twenty seven new threads don't keep you happy, you really can't just not read this one.

With the onset of 'mafia' and the continuous stream of threads that I'm quite happy to read (including some I'm quite happy to ignore), I deem this place better than WoS ever was. I haven't had one 'agree with me or BAN' threat yet.

Indeed, the position of other administration on the matter only works if "Sending PMs percieved as abusive == daring to quite like a racing game where you brake". Even so, nothing CUS posted was deleted.

Quite agree. The point I was sort of trying to make was that as Ram Raider and Rev. Stu appear to be the only people on the internet who agree with the pay-per-WoS debacle, could they possibly be the same person?
