I've changed back what was left from our holiday spending money, but the exchange rate they gave me is for Dollars to the Pound and I have changed Dollors back to pounds. Sorry, my brain is on strike as it is fed up of being at the PC and wants to play games.

$55 is Darryl's
$96 is Sam's
The remainder is mine.

I changed $314 and got £186.01 with an exchange rate of 1.6881. Any idea how much I need to give the boys?

55/314 * 186.01 = £32.58 for Darryl
96/314*186.01 = £56.87 for Sam

Leaving £96.56 for your good self!

so 314 dollars, which means 163 of the dollars are yours?

So 51.9% of the money is your's.
17.5% of the money is Darryl's.
30.5 of the money is Sam's.

£186.01 is what you have now.

So,
£96.53 is your's.
£32.55 is Darryl's.
£56.73 is Sams's.

The remaining 20p is a rounding error/my commission.

Edit: I win because I showed my working.

Thank you both. I'm going with Richard's, because he was first and I'd shared it out before Lewie posted. :)

And nothing whatsoever to do with the 3p difference in your favour, I'm sure, eh? Nudge nudge, wink wink.

3p! That's where the credit crunch money has gone.

How is "55/314 * 186.01 = £32.58" not "showing my working"? :p

And LewieP didn't actually show any working, he just produced a series of numbers with no indication of how he got them. ;)
