I was playing Disney Trivial Pursuit with a few friends the other day and I thought "Wouldn't it be great to have a gaming version?" so... I'm making one. The categories are:- People and places, general knowledge, Celebrity involvement, history, sports and a picture category. Would anyone like to donate some questions? Normal games have 5000.... You could also try some Maths or number based ones in singles or multipart : In numerical order starting at Call of Duty what number would 2013's Call of Duty : Ghosts be ? (10) What do you get if you add together the number of Mass Effect games (on consoles) to the number of Gears of war games (on console) (3+4 so 7 - some people may think only 3 GOW games since the 4th was GOW Judgement instead of 4) How many map packs were released for Call of Duty : World at War (or pick any other COD since then - they have all had 4 packs released) (4) In Call of Duty Zombies by what number is the element know that both powers your special weapons and caused the original zombie outbreak (115) A bonus Zombies question : In Call of Duty : Black ops , when you finish the game and the final credits finish -what happens ? (Answer it starts Zombies mode on the map 'Five' - without a code you had to complete the game to unlock that map) |

As a general tip, try to go for actual questions people would expect to see in such a game and not the kind of thing that just proves how much obscure nonsense the questioner knows. It's a difficult trap to avoid and I'm totally not having a go at anyone in saying that but there are some questions here that are much closer to the latter than the former. I'll throw one in here and you can decide whether I've taken my own advice: name the set of islands Far Cry 3 takes place on. |

I do think you need a seasoning of obscure/esoteric questions, but that's all. If it's all "What was the Poke command for unlimited lives in Manic Miner" then you're going to lose the interest of most of the people playing. Assuming that all of the players are gamers, then test their muscle memory as well, with questions about what control inputs did what. Maybe throw some simple things in like how do you make Sonic jump, but also how do you make Ken/Ryu produce a fireball. You could also deal with character names in games — Mario is littered with enemies no-one knows the names of from Bob-omb to Shyguys Then you have genre's to deal with, from the what was the first of, to game changing aspects of certain genres, be they text adventures, FPS, racing games, etc., etc. You could also litter the quiz with key personnel of famous games producers/designers. You know where to go with this |
