I've played split screen. It's fine, works well - except that it doesn't resize the menus, so you end up doing a lot of scrolling about.

I take it that Dr Ned is Dr Zed's twin brother, meaning they could save on voice actors. And no doubt the zombies will just be more axe-Gaywoods.

You need to dash for the little hut with the bandits in and quickly dispatch them. You can then hide underground and rush out to take a pop at the winged cow.

Just got into the second area. This game just gets better and better!

Also, I laughed hard when "Skullbugger is online" appeared on my screen last night.

Poured a few more hours into this last night and hit level 20 with my Roland. Specc'd to Infantry and achieved the Support Gunner moniker. Deploying the turret on Sledge nailed him in no time without me taking any damage huzzah! Yet again this game kept me up well past my bed time.

It looks as though I am due to move into another area pretty soon. Going to complete all of the missions in the starting zone for the achievement first though.

What's the level cap on this thing, assuming there is one? I just need a context to your "I got up to level 20" etc.

I think that the level cap is currently at 50.

I guess I should add to that, I've easily spent 18 - 20 hours playing already. But I would point out that I am incredibly slow (insert obvious joke here) and spend a lot of time ambling about, getting lost and generally dithering over inventory choices.

Do you know if the game essentially ends at the level cap right now, or is there a host of other stuff to do once you reach it?

I would guess (and it is only a guess) that the story ends but you could probably go back and do other things. We'll have to wait for an expert to pitch in [cue Dimmers/Mr Dave]

Level cap is 50, but apparently you'll struggle to reach it on the first playthrough. I don't know what happens when you reach the end, mind.

I haven't actually heard that there is a cap, as such. I know the last achievement is level 50.

Had a mentil time in Old Haven last night with a Dave. Good lord those Infantry/Engineer/Defender guys are tough.

How quickly do The Hut tend to get games to you?

I've stuck a couple of my games on ebay, so I reckon I should be able to make up the £30 Borderlands costs, and just buy it slightly in advance of getting the money.

They are complete bitches, especially the defenders, it took an age for my addled brain to realise that they were zeroes bouncing off the buggers, just before I walked into the bright light.

Had an Owungaing good time last night with Dimrill and Older Dave. When I joined, I was level 11. When I left, I was level 20. EVERYTHING we encountered had a big flashing skull next to its name. You know what happens when you're level 11 and you shoot a level 26 bandit with a level 7 shotgun? SWEET FUCK ALL, that's what.

So I spent most of my time dying and being revived by the most kind Dave and Dimdims. And laughing my pants off. The downside to all this, as Dave's pointed out, is I will now return to my own playthrough (where I've only just left Fyrestone) and be totally unstoppable.

Han a pathetically tiny amount of fun last night with Dave and Dimrill, as it was mostly spent getting owned by Mothrakk... then after they buggered off, I did some missions, though nothing spectacular.

That's Mothrakk for you. TBH, I doubt he'd be much easier at level 30+.

That's sort of my thinking. I want to do the thing through solo, but I'll happily do earlier bits in coop right now. I think we'll get more in-out coop play once most people have completed it once.

Seems a bit daft, its not like the story is earth-shattering or anything, its just an excuse for a load of quests.

I'm betting that the Vault contains Sealed Evil in a Can™. Because that would be highly original. Not.

well, Sir Dimrill and his Knave have finished the story. One of the reveals made us all chuckle.

Now we're both level 38, and my main weapon is still my awesome exploding pistol that I've been using since level 21! (It's a very good pistol)

*dusts hands* That was indeed that. I certainly don't see any need to play it further.

*tosses game on pile*

What am I now, level 27? 28?

I dare say I've teh fuxx0red my own game by hanging around with you guys.

The thing is, though, the drop-in drop-out co-op only works if you're near each other in levels. During all of our adventures I was mostly a nuisance (as always, arf arf) and observer as I couldn't really help you out beyond activating the area transitions and trying to revive you. Bullets from my guns bounced off the enemies like raisins off an Oldsmobile, not fun.
