Quiet as in "no one else is posting", dick. Nice try, though.

Bastard.

I'm looking forward to the new dash and being able to install games onto the HD and not have to listen to that jet turbine masquerading as a DVD drive.

To be honest, I can't begin to hear that over the TV either.

Which is why it's a bit sad that's it's my turbo equipped refrub that's going to be playing media centre downstairs.

Remember I said I found a Post Office book dating from 1983 with £190 in it?

Got the statement back today. That £190 has accumulated just over a grands worth of interest in the 25 years that have passed. Amazing!

Partly thanks to Thatcher and her high interest rates. According to the statement the account was earning more per year in interest in 1988 than it does today (even with all that extra cash).

What will you do with your new found wealth? Or will you simply leave your grand for another 25 years to grow some more?

I would personally blow it on a lap dance from the grand daughter of Andrew Sachs and a mixed meat kebab with chilli sauce.

No idea as yet. Makes you think though. Using an online inflaition calculator, £190 in 1983 would now be worth about £460. So the money has grown a fair bit. And keep in mind that National Savings don't offer the best interest rates either.

If you've got kids and a few quid spare, stick away a few bob in a high interest account and don't give them the book until they are 30! They'll get a nice lump sum.

That's what we're doing for the missus' niece. She alread has more toys than the rest of the kids in Brizzle put together, so instead she'll have a huge wodge of cash when she's 18.

No I got some red text telling me I couldn't

I posted something, then went to bed, when I came down in the morning I was still on the posting screen, and there was some red text telling me I couldn't post. I tried again, same thing.

something was invalid or something, I can't remember what exactly.
