Agreed on the lack of personalities, but I don't really feel like that second bit is warranted -- I thought it was a pretty refreshing change for the characters in a modern Alien movie to not do stupid stuff to advance the plot.

The other one isn’t really that stupid though. Sure, it’s stupid to us because we know it’s the hive, etcetera etcetera. Guess his fight or flight reflex is very much fly into danger

I was super annoyed when Rain ran back to save Andy because at that point he was Corporate Bot 3000 I think. But even so, it's like you're almost out, you've got barely any time and he's a fairly broken robot who at the start of the movie was having a shit 'life' anyway.

was wrecked by the alien from Alien. I thought it was all some cloning super nonsense. Although I think there was some cloning super nonsense because they got all those eggs. It wasn't exactly well explained (and the dialogue was a little hard to hear in my showing - which was an IMAX one).

Aw come on, they saw a massive row of facehuggers all fresh out the packaging, decided not to go that way, and then…he just runs off in the direction of the creepy sponge wall without even a hint of consulting his companions, who he just leaves behind in this giant creepy ship where his other companion got their face shagged. It was fucking stupid.

In Romulus you can see Ripley's escape shuttle from the Nostromo docked in the station and can later see it drifting away after the station breaks up. Meaning WY picked Ripley up earlier then lost her again.

Now I know you hardcore Alien nerds don't really like Romulus, or don't consider it canon, but c'mon, that's cool

Now that it's out digitally, I'm up for watching it again with lowered expectations. Dav, that is kind of cool but I prefer the idea that she drifted for 57 years instead. Especially as this suggests that they got the alien, cloned it up, pissed about with the eggs, got killed and at no point thought to wake up Ripley.

I mean I guess the alien was found first but if they got the Narcissus, why not open it?

Anyway, I'll watch it again soon.
