Nice cooler day here, too. Bit of rain around, it's just hit 29, nice cool 23 in the middle of the night.

(Seriously, it is actually a relief - this I can handle without fans or air conditioning.)

Gave in yesterday afternoon and put the heating on.

I'm pleased that my leccy bill will come as a shock: Given the weather and unable to dry stuff on the line, a tumble dryer has been installed.

Snow fell. School closed. Children happy. I didn't move to the seaside for this.

Aw! I hope you get a bit of snowman fun today. It’s blasted cold here but no significant snowfall.

Lovely pictures of the snow, but we just have Axl's refrain of Cold November Rain (and a lot of wind) here

We had lots of snow last night (I'm in the North West). Thankfully not enough to knack the roads as I'm in work for two meetings today.

We almost never get snow here, even when it's snowing a few miles inland. There's definitely been a marked change since we were kids, though.

Darwin and Russell built a snowman after school. I just stuck the nose on. That was my entire input because it was so cold.

Bubble wrap is your friend. Not while the lock is frozen, but when it isn't, wrap some bubble wrap around it, or even a little bubble wrap bag, so that it's completely covered. Tie a bit of string around it to stop it coming off. That should keep it from freezing up. Also stops outside taps from freezing.

Very dangerous out there this morning. Lots of ice on the side roads and pavements, main roads mostly clear.

We saw the aftermath of one of those "how the fuck did that happen?" crashes outside a local school at 8.00 am. About 50 yards before we got to the actual school there was an Audi saloon on the pavement with its nearside front wing mangled. Outside the school, on the pavement, behind the crash barrier was a Nissan at a 45 degree angle, rear end against the school fence, with its left side badly damaged and it's difficult to imagine how the Nissan had got into that position. The crash barrier didn't appear to have been touched. Luckily it had happened before kids were arriving for school, or it could have resulted in a lot of injuries.

Oof, that must be a concerning sight. Thank goodness it wasn’t when there were loads of teachers and kids about.

Absolutely traffic chaos on the road between Shepton Mallet and Croscombe. One of our nation's vital arteries, blocked.

Of the seven runs of fence in my row of houses, one was rebuilt a year or so back. Two have failed today and are having a lie down, and two more are looking suspect. So far the one that I own is holding fast.

At risk of poking fate with a big stick, all quiet on the north western front.

Except Dominos aren't delivering, so Papa John's it is

Wait for two hours and the order turns up both incomplete, and cold.
