Where IS area 51?

I don’t know... I think you’ve got to have some personality to take that design scheme that far, even if that personality is ‘serial killer’.
I don't understand why there's a massive sofa in the gym area.

I thought it looked more sci-fi (like a 60s/70s idea of futurism) than hospital but yes, so sterile. Then you get to the last pictures where it obviously got too much so they have a huge shaggy 70s sofa.

To me that looked like it’s someone with zero personality pretending they do have personality. So the whole house is plain and then the couch where they take video calls is full colour to fool people into thinking they’re normal. Then when the video call ends they go back to being a robot.

The weird little touches of humanity make it worse, somehow. The colourful sofa, the cute liitle hearts on the bathroom mirror, the red cushions. It's like this android is starting to feel human emotions but is unable to truely express them.

So the owner can watch their captives get down to a more easily skin-able weight in comfort.

I don’t think we have a thread of weird Rightmove listings, but I love looking at them, so here’s a good’un:

My friend at work posted this link, that his Sister was looking at, until they saw Street View.

hmm, they've removed the streetview link, you can still get there by clicking on the map, and then dragging the yellow man to the place.

Haha holy shit.
Heisenberg's european base
That's crazy! Right by a football pitch, with no safety netting up! No wonder they had second thoughts, they'd be getting footballs in their front garden constantly. Bullet dodged on their behalf, I think.

If this is your new principle, tonight's going to be much quieter than usual.

And we're all grateful.
Two weeks after most of it went, I've just sold my last bit of Harry Potter Lego. To - um.

I sold something on eBay the other day and was surprised to see that YouTubes very own, Guru Larry had bought it.

Of course I looked at his house on Google Maps.
I once sold a copy of Day of the Tentacle to a person who I recognised as a regular letter writer to Digitizer.
Is that a shed red shirt I see in the background?

Is that what myp looks like without his beard? ;)
What a world we live in... I've just had an email from my printer telling me that my debit card expires at the end of this month.

Bravo.
Daft question. Are blueray and 4K the same thing. When buying discs?
No

Blu-ray on its own is HD, 4k Blu-ray, is a separate (more expensive) thing (that can usually play normal Blu-ray disks)

Is it a different device. I have a PS4 abs a blueray player.
You’d need a PS5 to play 4K Blu-ray disks
Get a 360 Xbox One X

Cheers.
I've just had this email from my bank. Well, this seems like a bit of a faff doesn't it? I can understand them making things more secure and I'd be the first to complain if someone else was using my card but still...

Should this be in the first world problem thread? Probably.

Dear Mr Taylor,
Soon, when you’re shopping online and want to pay with your debit or credit card, we’ll need to check it’s really you making the payment. We can do this with you through:
• Mobile Banking app - you’ll be automatically prompted if you use our Mobile Banking app
• Giving you a passcode - we’ll use the phone number we have for you.
Keeping you and your accounts safer
All UK card issuers are adding in this extra security check for some online payments, and we’re starting this from June. It’s to help protect you from online fraud when you’re shopping or banking online. By using our Mobile Banking app, your mobile phone or landline, you’ll be able to quickly and securely confirm to us it's you when you want to buy something online
I think we’ve had this live for a while now. It’s really simple and takes a second extra, and hopefully will give some protection against fraud. We use the passcode to text option usually. It’s very quick :)
2 factor auth for online shopping? I approve
The transaction authorisation is only for certain values isn't it, not for everything? I've had either a code sent, or a text where I have to reply YES or NO. It's not really been an issue, all my payment information autofills so I'm kind of glad there is an extra layer of protection.
I can see the sense, but it does sound a pain - I don't walk to the shops with my phone. And in summer, without a coat pocket to tuck the great lump into, it's one more hassle.

I think it's only for online shopping, cardholder not present purchases I guess?
Oh yeah! I thought my bank had phrased it differently, but I probably misread that, too. Less of a pain - though I still have to hunt around for the phone when verifying myself to eBay/a different bank. Years of not having to, and of going to work without my phone (and banking from there) means the phone still isn't something I have to hand.
I guess you're a fringe case as most people wouldn't even think about being away from their phone these days :D
It won't be for all transactions, just some.

When they first started bringing all this in a couple of years back I had text from my bank as I walked out the supermarket. "was this you? reply yes" etc... Next text said "you haven't been charged for this transaction, please wait 10 mins and try again".
I was standing in the car park, with 2 bags of shopping in a hand and a receipt that said I had paid...

Now I think about it, Capital One have done this for a while. Unfortunately it has tended to be along the "this transaction has failed" line, so I've ended up using another card. Better when I'm overseas and using it regularly, though.
If Halloween was on a Thursday, would you prefer to celebrate it on Friday the First of November or Friday 25th of October?

In this situation you have to celebrate it on a Friday, you cannot celebrate it on any other day!
1st November for me.

Thanks!

Gives me an extra week, but I might need a disclaimer!
I'd prefer earlier.

BUT

You do get the opportunity of scooping up discount Halloween decorations if it's after the actual day.

Is this for a real thing or are you just thinking again, Malc?
