Episode 8 of Invasion is, predictably, a steaming pile of shit. The people who wrote the dialogue have never spoken with other people. The themes are hilariously stated out loud just to clobber their amazingly clever ideas they wrote on the back of a fag packet.

American soldier “Why are you, an Afghan in Afghanistan, so calm about this alien invasion.”
Afghan “All we’ve know are invasions. You are an invader.”
American solider “hold me, brother.”

And the children? Oh god the children. There’s one in almost every scene and they’re universally terrible. One has epilepsy but it’ll turn out that his disability is an ability when he can hear the aliens. Oh that’s never been done before. Especially not in the fucking terrible The Predator film.

God I hate this so much. Roll on next Friday.
I'm up to episode 5 and sort of enjoying the suspense and creeping sense of doom. It's saved a bit by the Japanese bits - they may or may not be terrible actors, but I can't tell, and the dialogue is fine when I read it. And the US soldier has stopped shooting everything, for now.

But man, that group of kids. Awful. Sometimes they forget not to be precocious middle class RADA kids and I dislike them a little more. Though it's mostly the script, written by someone who ought to meet a kid some time.

That is exactly what I thought earlier, it’s just a shame that’s also the least interesting story bit.
Watched this last night on Apple TV:

Amazing scenes.
Anyone else watching Hawkeye on Disney+?

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
Anyone notice the "voice" of the unseen Uncle in episode 3?

I'm pretty sure it was Vincent D'Onofrio's Wilson Fisk from the Netflix MCU shows
Hawkeye episode 3 was delightful. The panning tracking shot was sublime!
Wasn't it lovely.

They have a great chemistry.
Episode 9 of Invasion is just fucking dreadful. Again. For a world apparently in the middle of a massive alien invasion that’s taken out most of London there’s a lot of sitting around having a fucking chin-wag like nothing fucking much is happening. I don’t give two shits about these characters; I don’t care for the actors, who aren’t doing a good job; I don’t care what is happening and the only reason I’m watching it is so I can moan about how shit it is.

The lad on the MRI scan didn’t even have his head stabilised on the machine. Then his head was wobbling around like no one’s business which would have fucked the results. Who puts someone in an MRI scan with a tiny tiny pillow? And the army truck taken out by shooting a tyre? Fuck off. A fucking tyre. No, that’s not how that works. It wouldn’t flip a truck on its side. And who gives a shit about that Asian bloke? The biggest scumbag gets a PG rated death off screen. Yawn.

Mind you, you get a good look at the aliens finally. And they are…unimpressive.

I sort of didn't mind it, though good grief, the whining kids in the woods. Yes, it's all very serious. Get on with it.

I think I was just glad that it was coming to some kind of end. Though the means of it was pretty crap, though I suppose it was always going to be - fingers crossed it is an end, rather than a precursor to more. I would have liked to see your reaction when the aliens just fell over.

It feels like they've got very excited about telling 'the human side', decided they'd really focus on that as if it were something new, missing the fact that that is how pretty much every war story is told.
Finally caught up with ‘The Boys’. I have a man crush on Karl Urban. As the man said. ‘Don’t be a C**t’

Yes I watched it in the uk. :)

I found The Boys one of the most uncomfortable and difficult things to watch. Russell really enjoyed it, but I found it quite upsetting/triggering.

I can see that. Some of the subjects covered were not nice.
Just watched Riverdale S06E01, and they are doing an odd parallel universe thing, but it seems we’re going to get a Sabrina crossover at last.
Technically there already was one, Sabrina & friends have been to Riverdale before

But they didn’t interact with anyone that we know.
Isn’t it just a delivery driver that has been seen in both series?
Titans Season 3 comes to Netflix on Wednesday
The last series of Schitt's Creek wasn't as zingy and funny as the the others but it was still really good and it's nice to see something wrapped up in a reasonable number of series instead of endlessly dragging on or ending prematurely and leaving things hanging. It was a lovely series and now I see why people were feeling so positive towards it.

I like Karl Urban too, he's ace. Bit of a dodgy accent tho, eh?

Excellent casting for Homelander, I thought. I'm looking forward to S3.

Turgid, I thought.

I quite enjoyed it, but I seem to have a low bar.
Been watching Invincible on prime, a 8 part adult themed cartoon.

A boy coming of age gets his powers, from his dad, the ultimate hero. Things do not go smoothly.

I liked it, very much on the line of the Boys, in that how do you stop a rogue super.

The comics its based on are also really good if you want to continue the story without waiting for the next set of cartoons

I might look at those..

Yes. Hawkeye was marvellous. He is being played so well.

In other news. Watched all lower decks. I realised have enjoyed the series.

Absolutely!
Episode … 10 … of Invasion? Didn’t it end last week?

This is billed as the “exciting finale”, according to Apple. Let’s have a look.

Scene 1: some dude talks about his daughter having a compass. *yawn* No, it’s not starting off well at all is it…
Jesus Christ, the dialogue between this woman and her two kids is the least convincing conversation I’ve ever heard anyone have. I’ve a working theory that this show is actually written by aliens who are trying to mimic how humans speak.
The story with this Japanese woman is very confusing. She sees her lover get expelled through the hole in a space ship (in space) on CCTV and then, for some reason I can’t fathom, moans about her position being nuked from orbit because … well, she seems to think shes fine and will come floating down to earth or something? Now she’s moping about cause she was exploded by a nuke? Like, did she really expect her to come back from episode 1 after she clearly died?

15 minutes and fuck all has happened. We do, veery slowly, see the inside of the Japanese woman’s closet though. She’s very neat. I’m sure that’s an important plot point for some reason.
Yep, there’s no way that need to be an hour long to say “there’s a second season coming”
There’s people and cars on the street now? Where the fuck were they just a fucking hour ago when the aliens were knocking about?! London was literally empty and now it’s teeming with dickheads. There’s zero explanation; just some army guy smiling at the sky and waving at children while music plays too fucking loud over the top of it.

Oh and now the telephones are magically working?! It’s been a fucking hour tops since nothing was working and no one was around.
God, these children are fucking annoying. Eat gratingly terrible child actors whose sole responsibility is to piss off the viewer.

And good god, I hope that bully from the bus crash was eaten by an alien and doesn’t come back.

Oh this Japanese woman is following a compass now. Fuck me. Who writes this shit…
Japanese woman burns a denim jacket.

30 minutes have passed.
Kids do a mock burial for their dead dad (please be dead, for the love of god) and dig a 1 foot hole and then attempt to fill it with just handful of soil.
Army man arrives home after two years and discovers his wife is a crack whore now, apparently.
45 very long minutes have passed. I can’t wait for the exiting finale. Must be coming soon.
Army guy has gone to the beach on what appears to be the windiest day of the year. The actor looks very cold. He’s flicking through a comic book which some kid drew. This is all very interesting.
OH MY FUCKING GOD, ITS A DREAM SEQUENCE.

Creatively. Redundant.
Aye up, God has arrived.

The. End.

Absolute utter shit. There’s a shot at the end where the 5 stars of the show are looking into the camera at the awe of what has just turned up. Close up of the eyes. Very shocked faces. They cannot believe what they can see. The view is stunning. A fearful sight to be behold that the aliens are here.

…Except for one lady where it’s nighttime and best of all she’s fucking indoors.

Conclusion:

An unsalvageable train wreck of a TV show which has no redeeming features beyond the occasional nice visual.

This^^^. Where the fuck was the excitement that was promised? It’s not a slow burn, it’s a dumpster fire.

Although let’s hope there won’t be another season and we’ll never hear from whoever the fuck made this trash.
Always Sunny S15 is very fine. Going to watch Invasion 10 now, and then come back to enjoy Sat's comments.
Hawkeye remains high quality, but I'm a little bit concerned that the last episode is going to leave more questions than answers, much like Wandavision.
Supernatural seasons 1-15 are now included with Prime... which is good.

Yeah, I have really enjoyed it but the series is too short.

:this:
It was definitely a bold move to have episode 5 of a 6 episode series be a short and largely action free breather
Hawkeye finale was really good. I enjoyed the series a lot especially the characters. The only weak link this time was King Pin who should have been Thanos’ed up to be imposing, but it was just a guy (and not even a fat guy) in a suit. That aside, this was a resounding success. The best series Marvel has made by far.

Mind you, I haven’t watched Falcon & Winter Solider. Is it worth it peeps who aren’t screaming fan boys?
Falcon and the Winter Soldier had much potential, but it's glaringly obvious that it had its heart ripped out in post production to remove a pandemic subplot. It's got some solid character stuff in it though and worth a watch.

You could probably find a YouTube summary video though

I'm guessing you haven't seen Daredevil, as Kingpin in that is the same Kingpin in this, and he has a lot more to do
Been enjoying the Dexter reboot. It's more like how it was before it went and turned into absolute shite.
