The man-ape known as Bigfoot was found in the northern woods of Georgia according to a company that calls itself "Searching for Bigfoot, Inc".

The group has scheduled a press conference for Friday, and a hotel in Palo Alto, California where they claim they will be able to provide DNA evidence as well as picutures of the creature.

The press release announcing the event describes the hybrid "manimal" to be over seven and a half feet tall, male and weighs over 500 pounds. It has reddish hair and blackish-grey eyes, two arms, two legs and five fingers and five toes right where you would expect them to be. There are many measurements included in the release, including a footprint of nearly 17 inches in length.

The list of features even claims that other live versions of the species were seen as well.

The group's website includes the full press release and a photo of the bounty stuffed into a freezer chest.

It's a sunny morning and all is OK.

Trip to DWP went OK. i don't seem to have learnt to be quiet:

I get called over and there's a lass there (quite pretty) and another lass (also quite pretty) lass A introduces me to lass B, explaining that she's being trained, new job etc. Lass B says "Actually, I'm from the Fraud Squad" so I open my mouth and say "I would jump at the chance to be investigated by you".

Smooth, mali, smooth.....

360 RMD please :?:
As I mentioned in the Bargains thread the other day, Argos have expanded their £30 or 2 for £45 range, so I figured this was a good opportunity to pick up Call of Duty 4 and maybe get in on some bezzie hide and seek action. The question is, what else shall I get? The other games are:

Project Gotham Racing 4 - but I already have this
Devil May Cry 4
Iron Man - I understand this sucks
Need for Speed ProStreet - I know nothing about this
Assassins Creed
Kane & Lynch - I already have this (and have played it once)
Fear
Tiger Woods 08 - I already have this on the wii, so I probably don't want this
FIFA 08 - I don't really like this, Euro 2008 seems much better, so if anything I'll wait for FIFA 09
Dark Sector - What's this?
Civilization Revolution - I realise a lot of you are going to recommend this, but I'm not really into strategy games, feel free to persuade me to change my mind though.
WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2008 - I don't think so.
GRAW - Although the picture is of GRAW2, either way, I've played the demo and not enjoyed it
Turning Point - No

So I guess I've narrowed it down to DMC4, NFS ProStreet, Assassins Creed, Fear or Dark Sector. Anyone got any recommendations or warnings?

I don't like strategy games like the Command & Conquer series, etc, but the Civilization games are all awesome. It's not entirely fighting based, there's lots of politics and diplomacy involved too and yet, despite it's complexity, it's fairly simple to get into and follow. That said, Civ: Revolution does place a much greater emphasis on warfare than the others do, but it's also much shorter, more streamlined and easier to get into as a result. And the actual warfare rarely requires you to be an awesome military general, it's more about balancing resources, making sure you've properly defended your cities and other important targets and developing a large, technologically-developed, organised military.

There's a demo of it on Live anyway, so you should give it a little spin.

Get two copies of COD4 and trade one in at Gamestation or somewhere. You should then be able to get something you actually want rather than just choosing the least worst from a pretty crappy list.

I like NFS: Pro Street, but I think it's a game for people who specifically like car/racing games in particular.

That's not a bad idea, especially as cex are currently paying £25 cash for it, so if you parked up somewhere with an Argos and a CEX, you could clean out argos and make £5 for every 2 copies you could get out of them.

Realistically, though, I can't really be bothered to farm money out of it, and I'd have to go out of my way to go somewhere I could trade the second copy in.
Having completely forgotten about demos, I now have Civilization, NFS and Dark Sector queued up, and if they all suck, I'll probably have a crack at Assassins Creed.

Post subject:  Re: Bits and Bobs 2

A few quick comments on this :

>Project Gotham Racing 4 - but I already have this

I'm tempted by this but have 3 and forza

>Devil May Cry 4

£14 2nd hand in Blockbuster at the moment i just need to find something else in the 2 for 28 pile to match with it.

>Iron Man - I understand this sucks

Looks rubbish

>Need for Speed ProStreet - I know nothing about this

Played NFS stuff on PSP and ps2 but not a big racing fan.

>Assassins Creed

Got this as part of the 2 for 28 in blockbuster about a month ago , looks very pretty is a bit dull - i think its slightly cheaper in gamestation at the moment (2 for 20?)

>Kane & Lynch - I already have this (and have played it once)

Doesnt look very good.

>Fear

Oldish game

>Tiger Woods 08 - I already have this on the wii, so I probably don't want this

Dont own any of the recent ones but golf is golf.

>FIFA 08 - I don't really like this, Euro 2008 seems much better, so if anything I'll wait for FIFA 09

Dont own any fifa games and they are all about 2p each 2nd hand.

>Dark Sector - What's this?

Some first person shooter with a glave (weapony thing from Krull if i remember correctly) not played it.

>Civilization Revolution - I realise a lot of you are going to recommend this, but I'm not really into strategy games, feel free to persuade me to change my mind though.

I'm tempted by this but havent played civ since about civ2

>WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2008 - I don't think so.

No no no !

>GRAW - Although the picture is of GRAW2, either way, I've played the demo and not enjoyed it

I have both GRAW 1 and 2 and havent really played them - GRAW1 is in the 5 for 25 group at BB GRAW2 is in the 2 for 18

>Turning Point - No

Looks very dull

So i'm looking at COD4 but have a similar problem in that i dont see any of the others which are worth it.

Another alternative is that COD4 is that much more everywhere else and post for an xbox game is going to be about £2 is if they let you buy 2 then one of us buys 2 and mails one to the other person ?

Author:  Joans [ Thu Aug 14, 2008 17:03 ]
Post subject:  Re: Bits and Bobs 2

That's not a bad idea. Once my super-slow internet connection has finished downloading the demos I'll see if I fancy any of them. If not, maybe we can sort something out.
You can certainly order 2 copies of COD4 on the website and it will give them to you for £45, so there shouldn't be a problem there.

Sometimes I post comments to various internet commentary sites. For the Guardian's cricket commentary I used to get on all the time. Just tried the BBC for the first time. He shoots he scores... here's how the 'exciting moment' went down (I'm Andy H, BTW):

Quote:
2056: Over on 606, there's a debate about how best to get a comment on this page. If I may be so bold as to stick in my two-penneth worth, maybe something amusing, something interesting, something that provokes debate, but clearly doesn't cross the line. And I think we all know where that line is, don't we?

2058: "Funny anecdotes are also helpful. One time I told a long story about missing the net from on the line (don't ask) and being shoved in goal for the next match. That got me on."
cheese666 on 606

2100: Oh for heaven's sake. Babajide "Baba" Collins Babatunde is coming on for FC Midtjylland. Is this some sort of wind-up?

2102: Officially, there were 2,200 at the Villa game. There are about 40 Danish fans in Manchester tonight. I love being able to hear the players. Martin Petrov's volley is cleared by a defender before Elano flashes a shot across goal and wide.

2105: "(See 2056) We all know where the line is? You should have told the linesman at Liverpool's match last night!"
