FTFY.

Oh hush. It wasn't yours. And I have given it back, ackshewelly. I swapped it for two Eddie Izzard CDs.

There are car parks fucking everywhere in Nottingham, however.

Which you don't actually need if you turn up in time for the fucking train.

I blame the lack of directions in St. Pancreas. And the fact that my jeans kept falling down when I ran.

And nor will I, until I get my copy of DUNGEON KEEPER BACK YOU THIEVING BASTARDS. As well as both Icewind Dale games and Sudden Strike.

Bill Cotton, former controller of BBC 1 has died.

The man did so much for British TV and was in charge of BBC 1 at the height of its powers. He signed The Two Ronnies, Morecambe And Wise and came up with the idea for The Generation Game (although he borrowed parts of it from a Dutch TV show).

Legend has it he was watching what was planned as the final episode of Blakes 7 at home (at the end of season 3) and was enjoying it so much he rang up the presentation department and instructed them to announce that Blakes 7 would return next year over the end credits. This came as a total shock to both cast and crew as they thought the show was over. Even the production office had closed.

Apparently scripts and contracts had to be sorted in double quick time as well as nothing had been arranged.

Wouldn't happen today and many would say British TV is worse off for it.

Yeah, it's for a pickup, so Piccadilly sounds lovely, cheers.

I don't think they were wrong at all. What I thought the father wanted was 50k so he could continue with his hobby.

Also, today I am snotty. Must be wine. Bastard wine.

And off to DWP later on this afternoon.

That describes 90% of the people in the den. Doesn't change that financially it's a pretty reasonable bet for, cruicially, bugger all time input.

I don't think so. If the driver WAS all that, he'd have won the championship by now and also, the father admitted he'd done fuck all in trying to raise any other sponsorship.

The best way to end with a small fortune in motor sports is to start with a big one though. :)

True, the genius of that investment was they weren't IN Motorsports. It made sense as a one year deal to me, £50k is less than 1 TV ad, Peter was right, Red Letter Days would make the money before they even started. The fact that you'll probably make a mil or so from his LeMans / GT type career if he's any good at all is just a bonus.

It's been done before of course.... http://www.investinwilson.com

Yup. It leads in to the new CGI Clone Wars TV series.

Alternatively: "I will not harm you" always works well to put the datee at ease.

The beauty of that line is that in the absence of chloroform, you can just thrust your tackle under the poor girl's unsuspecting nose instead.

On the "dating" topic, some people might remember that about a month ago I went out on a date with a girl that I'd sent a random message to on Facebook. We had "the conversation" the other day and are now exclusively dating each other. Social networking does work!

Does "the conversation" = "does this smell of chloroform"? And if so, does "exclusively dating" = "locked in my basement"?

Due to baby related shenaniganry, I ended up getting 2 1/2 hours sleep last night. I am very tired indeed. I just spent the last hour asleep on the floor of my office.

That'll teach you for boasting about having decent sleep yesterday.

Yeah, I figured I was tempting fate there. Also by staying up a bit late last night. He seems to sleep well when I go to bed early, and really badly if I stay up and have one glass of wine too many. Grrr.

On the "dating" topic, some people might remember that about a month ago I went out on a date with a girl that I'd sent a random message to on Facebook. We had "the conversation" the other day and are now exclusively dating each other. Social networking does work!

I was back in Newport last weekend and had lunch with Vic. I mentioned that I 'knew' you, and much jollity was had. She also spoke very highly of your technical expertise.

Congrats Gazzers - this week's starting to look better than last for you. Did we mention we raised a toast to you on Saturday? I reckon it's all our doing.

We made the decision on Saturday, as it goes. While she was helping me clean my flat ;)

Nice of you guys to raise a toast in my absence, I regret not coming now, getting absolutely hammered out of my tree would do me the world of good.

How is she? Not really spoken to her for a while, all has been a bit quiet on the Funky Flip Flops front and I only work with Sally three days out of five now.
