I can't, they stole my stars then emailed me a month later to tell me they already had.

I seem to have got 3000 points now, anyone got any ideas what I should spend them on?

My account seems to have been erased completely (I'd been using the 'Nintendo VIP' site since the GameCube came out), and they haven't responded to any of the stupidly polite emails I sent, asking them to check it out for me if they possibly have a moment to spare. I had 8000 stars. >:

Even if you get the account back you won't have stars, they deleted all stars over 2 years old.

Did they ever give a reason for this?

The contempt for the customer on display here is gobsmacking. They've always been naff in Europe, but fucking hell...

But buying 5 or 6 full price games to get 5 or 6 full price games is a good deal. Especially as Nintendo price their games much cheaper than the other 2 with a typical RRP £20 to £35

Then on top of a that they then give you Super Mario Bros 1 or Super Mario Bros 3 is a good deal, and it's churlish to think otherwise.

A way around the deleted points thing, is to not register them until you've enough to buy something.

Which would be super except they only just changed the terms.

Also, no, it's not "churlish" to expect a promotion they advertised to be worth something, especially when the deletion follows 5 years of charging a game worth of points for a fucking wallpaper. Then they announced you could swap the stars for points, clearly implying a 1:1 connection, then 6 months later changed their mind. Then they artifically ran themselves out of a non-physical good constantly, THEN changed the rules to allow them to suddenly delete points you could never use because the fucking stuff was never "in stock".

It is NOT churlish to be pissed off with them for that.

I totally agree on the deleting points thing (though they did give you plenty of time to get rid of you points - I got rid of my 5000 odd with plenty of time to spare.

Put a finite amount of an digital good up is also cuntish, but I still can't see how people can criticise this step, when it means pointless points for jpegs now can be exchanged for games.

Ha, I didn't. I just checked randomly for a few days. I must have just got lucky.

Also, they were constantly out of stock of the proper gifts last time, so it wasn't too suprising.I'm not saying it isn't an awful system (it really, really is) but I can't imagine getting really frustrated about a small thank you gift.

I've 2800 points to swap, so we'll see how long it takes me this time. (And I'll bump this if I see any.)
