Hmm.. the amount of stick I've had a work for deciding not to go to this has been surprising. At these functions I barely say a word so no-one would notice if I was there or not. I've resorted to telling folk 'I'll think about it'.

Clearly they disagree. At least it sounds like they are putting some effort in, ours are utter shite, and we don't have a team one as no one can stand our boss as he is an utter cunt.

Our xmas parties are usually pretty good (and the team ones too). I haven't told them the main reason I'm not going so as not to cause any friction (I'm not happy with the way the company is being run and with the people who are running it, so it seems hypocritical to go along to some big jolly party at the company's expense and pretending that everything is ok) so people think I don't want to go because it's a masquerade.

Or, just turn up for a couple of hours and head away again, using some form of pretext.

Or turn up, get horrifically drunk, lech all the women and shit on the table. They won't ask again and it's their fault for insisting you go so they can't blame you.

No downsides that I can see.

I'd use hot sauce instead of salt and pepper. A few drops from a big imported bottle from a Chinese supermarket probably wouldn't even affect the price, as well as being approximately as nutritionally worthwhile (salt, sugar, chilli, garlic and/or ginger if you're lucky. Not to mention the delicious MSG).

There are far too many Crasters in the wild, doesn't help that you're a shape shifter either.

I dunno, you spend weeks working on something, trying to get it right, ironing out every last problem, staying up till gone midnight most nights working through various problems, hassling back office to sort their shit out. Then finally, finally you get it all working and the only time any of the people who asked for it feel moved to throw a sign of appreciation your way is because you spent ten minutes applying a simple colour scheme and sticking a shitty graphic on the front end. :S

CR2032 batteries are the sort that used to go in Dreamcast VMU's. They looked like large, but thin, watch batteries.

That's all I can give you... sorry.

From the wikipedia page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CR2032_battery

The DL ones seem to just be the duracell branded version of them ?

Heh, I edited my question as it was clearly stupidly dull. But, thanks.

Scales are clearly shot, then. Stupid batteries. no cake for Malia.

Casio F-91W's are cool. MrsA bought me one, as it has a stopwatch on it. As long as I run places in less than 59 minutes and 59.995 seconds, I'll be fine.

Had another heart MRI yesterday. Took ages. Another 2 weeks for any kinds of results and I also have a nice bruise on my arm from where they injected the resolution agent. I will run to work tomorrow in a continued affort to the possibility of having a dicky ticker.

Turned my computer on this evening and got a message saying, "your computer has changed sufficiently to have lost its Windows validation, please revalidate within 3 days ... ."
Now I haven't changed anything on the computer. Why is it saying that? I have run a ful virus check and found nothing. It is windows XP.

My favourites are (in no particular order):

Regular Show
Adventure Time
Flapjack
The Amazing World of Gumball
Chowder

Could do without the 3 different versions of Ben 10, mind you.

Had toothache last couple of days and it eased off slightly yesterday. Had to book an appointment at dentists this morning as the left side of my face had swollen up over night. On antibiotics now for abscess/infection (they weren't sure which it was).

No booze for a week then. :'(
