These are the ones I’m missing are:

Amber thanks Miki!
Ankylo torso/tail
Archelon tail
Dimetrodon skull Whhoooo! Thank you Dimmers!
Ophalmo torso whoop! Thank you Miki!
Right Petra wing found

Are these the same ones you are missing Dimrill? I’ve found a few of my missing ones on Nook Miles islands, so I wonder if ‘rare’ fossils are there?

Yeah, you can drop them off or post fossils.

If anyone is looking for the last few fossils post them and I’ll keep an eye out on my daily dig.

Hemicycle, that article is sweet in its way. I wanted to have Darwin and Russell live on my island in their own little houses, but Russell got bored after about six minutes and Darwin will *only* play as me because (I quote) ‘then I would have to live in a different house from my mummy in Animal Crossing and I wouldn’t like that. I would cry’. :(

So he’s found his own ways to mess things up:

Spending 80% of my income on clothes. ALWAYS the pink and lilac varieties of everything. They are horrible. Every time.

Being REALLY shocked and wounded that I would EVER chop down a tree, because The Lorax taught him that this was an heinous thing to do, so my island resembles a dense woodland.

And shouting ‘CLAM!’ at me when I’m fishing so I miss every fish.

But he’s so delighted at playing that I don’t care.

Did you see comment about the player having the opposite experience with his kids?
https://kotaku.com/my-kids-are-fucking- ... 1842851190

I'm glad my daughter has her own copy :DD

I love this. :) I'm tempted to try and get my brother and his kids into this game, but I suspect it would end in much the same island state!

Also, I'll leave my island open for the afternoon in case anyone wants to buy essentials like a flamingo or protein shake bottle.

D’oh, missed that. I saw Flick was in town so nipped back to my island to fill up with butterflies from my storage, came back and he reminded me that he doesn’t buy from foreign types, so went back home.

Yeah, that's why I didn't mention that. It's actually the first time I've seen Flick, so I'll be doing some more bug-hunting later. :)

I've been having some stick drifting issues with my left joycon and wasn't particularly looking forward to replacing it. So I done boughted some WD40 electrical contact cleaner, lifted up the little rubber skirt, and gave it a ruddy good squirtin. It worked!

Any advancement on the shop @romanista @jem?

Where is the rubber skirt, Dimrill? Did you have to pull it apart to do that?

I think it was Isabelle mentioning it in her announcement.

Hmm, I think the ‘triggers’ everyone mentioned are a bit off.

It’s Earth Day tomorrow (RL) and Nintendo said there would be an April update with an Earth Day event, so I hope that lands in the next 24hrs...

No news on my shop yet. I must admit I rarely spend in there (I always seem to have crap items) so would lean towards it being spend related like previous games.

A couple of observations from playing that I've noticed...

I've found that I can learn up to 3 DIY recipes per day from villagers: around 8am, lunchtime (now-ish) and around 7-8pm. My sister noticed that not all of her villagers have DIY tables though, so if you're not getting many DIY recipes it might be worth gifting one to villagers without? Also, I don't usually stay up beyond 10pm so can't rule out a later recipe for the night owls?

Despite previously complaining about frequency of gold nuggets, I've recently been bashing all my island's rocks (instead of looking for the $$ and then stopping) and have found I get one gold nugget per day this way.

I don't have the guide book yet so apologies if you already knew this!

I’ve always boshed every Rick every day and I think I have only 13-14 gold nuggets total, so I don’t think there’s a daily Rick nugget, sadly.

The guidebook is good, but there are a couple of inconsistencies (it gives two conflicting bits of info about tarantula spawn times, for example, and also says you get between 2-6 fossils spawn on your island per day, whereas I’m pretty sure it’s always four), but it’s generally a lovely thing, because encyclopaedias are.

Nope. If you look under the thumbstick, there's a little pliable skirt type thing that's formed from the rubber grip on the top of the stick. Use a cocktail stick or needle or something to lift it up, put the stick at an angle, then blast it with contact cleaner. We'll see how long this lasts.

I've heard it depends on how long you've left it between visits. If you haven't played for a couple of days the fossils build up. At least that's what the internet says.

Oh, yes, I get this. One day I forgot to go looking for fossils somehow, and only picked up the two on the lowlands, but the next day day I had six (two from the previous day and four new ones) but there were still only four spawning that day.

I guess if you left all four I dug then two ‘new’ ones would spawn, so I guess that might be technically correct, but I’d say it was four per day.

I got my 8th gold nugget today which was enough to get the gold armour crafted. It looks a bit crap when worn though so I've stashed it my house for now. At least it's worth 80k when sold though so that might come in handy.

I'm on day 7 of this ringing true for me, so will keep you updated on whether it continues :)

In the first couple of days on the game I got 5-6 fossils but have only found 4 per days on my own island since... there is a possibility I accidentally counted a nook miles island fossil or two in that though so would take it with a pinch of salt.

My daily ritual involves smacking all my rocks and it's entirely random. I got three out of the same rock once.

Maybe you’re super lucky.

I wondered if they’d built the feng shui mechanic into this game and according to the guide they have. I’ve never really done the feng shui. Has anybody else?

I live Rover! I bought a Rover amiibo card, but I can’t even invite him to Harvey’s. It said they couldn’t contact him but would send me his poster. I DID NOT GET MY POSTER.

Yeah, they usually send one to your houses nd then you can purchase/send duplicates, but I never received one and it’s not appeared in the shopping kiosk either.
