Ooh I reckon there's a sure fire winner in there and it's not my entry.

Johnny Cash will almost certainly win. I'll probably vote for Voice of the Beehive, but I will hold off until I can hear the 'Wicked Game' cover, as I love the original.

Johnny Cash is an easy choice here, it's a hauntingly beautiful take on the NIN track, but seriously, take away the video and is what you've got left really that powerful?

Giant Drag get the vote for a quality variation on a wonderful tune.

EDIT - I didn't like Stutter Rap at all, I don't have a stutter and I don't really know anyone who does, save for a guy at work who isn't a 'mate' as such but I know reasonably well and he struggles with it dreadfully and it upsets me because he's one of the cleverest, funniest guys I know and a lot of folks who meet him just don't see past the stutter. This song just seems to take the piss with no satire or 'message' at all.

It looks like most people agree with you, considering it has zero votes.

Yes. I was loving that version long before I ever saw the video.

Kids these days.

Is it a cover, seeing as he was in Morris Minor and the Majors?

You can't have Johnny Cash's version of Hurt, you just can't. It's like having a 'suggest a game' competition and someone goes for Modern Warfare. He's done better covers on the American albums and it has been over-praised on the web since it came out.

Fuck Hurt by Johnny Cash. Also NIN do it better.

I heard the NIN version second, and thought it was rubbish.

I heard the NIN version first, but I think they're both good in different ways.

I'm not surprised you didn't like it, judging by your past record!

I like both versions.

Cash's cover of Personal Jesus is good too.

I think I heard it on Further Down the Spiral as a live track so maybe not representative. Generally though I like that period NIN.

Eek, no. To be honest the whole of Downward Spiral needs to be listened to as an album, rather than individual tracks anyway.

Giant Drag - Yeah, it certainly is.
Johnny Cash - Y'know, it's alright. I like the build-to-a-crescendo chorus, but the main part of the song is actually a bit dull.
Lemonheads - One of the few S&G songs I genuinely don't like. Still, at least it's not Suggs doing Cecilia, eh?
Tony Hawks - Stick to skateboarding, Tony.
Voice of the Beehive - I hate Voice of the Beehive.

JC gets the vote, then.

I was interested in hearing that Giant Drag version of Wicked Game because I really like the original.

After listening to it... I shall be sticking with the original.

Voted for Mr Cash, as all the other songs were gash.

OK, I'm an idiot, whilst drunk, I decided that stutter rap was a cover of No sleep to Brooklyn, so submitted that, then in the morning, I reasoned that it wasn't, so I decided to reply to all, to change my submission to "All along the watch tower" by Jimi Hendrix, however, I didn't hit reply to all, I only hit reply, so I sent it to myself, then later I decide I had a better video, so sent that to craster too, however, I didn't, I only sent it tomyself.

I didn't even voter for myself, and no one picked it, and it's all I deserve, although luckily, the way the voting has gone has meant I'm still in joint first place!

Woohoo! and :belm:
