Its frickin' enormous. No second joystick though, bizarrely.

Only a couple of weeks late! But yeah, no second stick. Strange. I want one.

If the screen is the same resolution (which presumably it'll have to be for compatibility?) then won't everything look horrible with a much lower pixel density? That aside, bigger is always better with these things as I couldn't play Mario Kart on a DS Lite for more than ten minutes without my hand cramping to fuck; but not adding the second analogue stick on there's a real mistake I think and would put me off buying one if I'd been waiting for the second hardware iteration.

Is it true that it doesn't come with an AC adaptor?

As long as it's (say) 2 x larger both horizontal and vertical, it should just scale it, surely? This is what the iPhone does with apps built for the Retina display, doesn't it?

I assumed that to be the case for the iPhone as well but I'm sure I remember someone saying that it's not that simple when we were talking about the upcoming iPhone and how it would scale things. I can't remember the details of the discussion though so someone might be along shortly to tell me I'm talking bollocks. Even if it does auto-scale, as the graphics were designed for the original screen size and resolution some things might come out looking a bit crap I'd have thought?

I guess so, yes. I'm not sure what the method of sending out title updates to 3DS games is (if it even exists). Are they cartridge games or digital?

I know nothing about the 3DS, as you can probably guess. :)

Screen is the same resolution just bigger. No need to worry about updates.

Metal Gear Solid 3, and a few others I think.

I wonder if the size of the screen helps reduce any of the eye fatigue and headaches that was widely reported with playing in 3D. Is there any evidence that screen size affects these factors in any positive way?

Might actually be worth it now the battery will last the duration of a long haul flight.

I want. An odd decision not to add the second stick, though.

They'll just be used to play Pokemon and the new Animal Crossing anyway.

I can't find a proper 3DS thread so this will have to do.

The New Super Mario Bros 2 game is excellent! I didn't expect anything less to be honest.

But costs £39.99 to buy it off the eshop.
Of all companies I can understand why Nintendo wouldn't want to sell below rrp, but still :(

It is rediculous isn't it? I paid a little over £25 for it from Tesco and received it with a nice box, the instructions, some star points and it looks nice on my shelf.

I don't know why anyone would spend £39.99 for just the game.. and one that takes up space on the memory card.
