Shane Carruth, writer and director of the lo-fi scifi flick Primer, has uploaded the entire film to Google Video so you can watch it for free. If you liked the time-twists of Inception, you'll love Primer - it's even crazier.

Carruth wrote, directed and starred in this understated, weird movie that came out in 2004. It's the most realistic depiction of time travel you're ever likely to see, and it leads to a temporal paradox that gets more interesting the more you think about it.

This is one of the most amazing films I've ever seen. I watched it after reading Wil Wheaton go on about it in his blog, and I still think about it to this day.

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
I can get my head around roughly 5 of the 9 timelines, but after the bit where they go to the party I start to lose track about which of them was actually there.

Primer is amazing. Watch it a few times, then watch it with someone else who hasn't seen it before so you can watch them flounder.

That basejumping programme on Channel 4 was good, the crazy bastards. I'd never have the balls to do anything like that.

I wish they hadn't shown the accident three times, though. It made me feel a little sick, bringing back almost the exact feeling I went through before I crashed.

I knew the accident coming as soon as they said they were going for one last go. Years of riding wee bikes & planks of wood around taught me that if you go for one last shot/trick you'll slam!

Yep. You let your guard down, get a little cocky and push yourself further without knowing it.

Got to be a joke:

Quote:
The United States has had a difficult history with civil rights. From our early flirtations with slavery to the troubles of the 1960s, blacks and whites have not seen eye to eye. Interestingly enough, it was Bill Cosby who represented the end of racism to many in America when his “Cosby Show” became the highest-rated prime time program on television.

I wanted to go and see the Red Bull X-Fighters in London, but the cheapest ticket is £48!

I'll watch it on the telly instead, then.

No, I can well imagine lots of people seeing black people in a new light after something like the Cosby Show.

Having sid that I've not clicked on any of the links.

OK, so "The Lady in Red" by Chris de fucking Burgh and "Don't give up" by Peter Gabriel and Kate Bush had me in teers on the bus on the way to work this morning. What's going on? (Twitter thinks I might be pregnant)

I'm sorry to tell you this but having those two songs on your ipod doesn't mean you're pregnant. It means you're gay. I'm so sorry. :(

There's definitely some truth to this, people slam more when it's nearly time to go because they're tired. But it's also a bit like saying that your keys are always in the last place you look. If you don't have a colossal slam then you'll usually have another last go, and another etc.

But apart from that BASE jumping is just a ridiculous hobby, how anyone can get into something with such a high mortality rate is beyond me. Definitely some wrongo brain-wiring somewhere.

Yes, there's a world of difference between thinking that and actually throwing yourself of a building, though.

No no no, it's worth it, do it!

You know how the hills we drove up in the Tomcat look like little slopes through a camera? The same applies to the jumps the X-Fighters do. It's well worth £48.

The 6,000th thread has passed us by. It was started by me!

RANDOM BEEX FACTS
The Database is 954MB in size. The bulk of this is taken up by the posts (425MB) and the search indexing (458MB).
The database lists 439,101 separate posts and 6,002 topics.

There are 6,783 (2.5GB) attachments, the largest of which is 76MB.

We've got an average of 512 posts per day, just under 7 topics per day and 5 attachments per day.

Highest poster is still Myp with 26,391 (30 a day), then me with 23,514 (28 a day) and then Zardoz with 20,299 (23 a day). We have 61 members with only one post.

And I've just noticed that the shitty iPhone theme is generating huge amounts of logs because it was written by a retard >:(

I really want to go and see it. I saw the Crusty Demons do a similar show inside the MEN Arena in Manchester a few years ago, and it was a bloody great show. The height and distance they get is incredible.

~£50 is fine with me for a ticket, but factoring in travel and accommodation costs brings it well out of my price bracket right now.

Remember kids, if you enjoy BEEX then a small donation really helps:

£1 could buy a USB cable for the server
£2 could buy the love of the mods for a whole month
£5 could buy a new mouse for the server
£50 could buy a years subscription to Badgergirl Magazine for Craster
£100 could buy 6 months hosting
£5000 could buy enough heroin to keep the mods in stock for a month

Someone remind me about Primer later eh? I'm at work just now and I'm quite interested in watching it but I'll have forgotten by hometime. Tweet me!

Also, Londoners. We are still quite likely for a weekend in London in August but it may now be 26th-29th. I would imagine we would want a night out on the 27th (Friday). I will let you know when it is confirmed.

In the last month, no less.

[edit]Which is odd, actually, as I can't get that to bring up Beex at all on Google.co.uk .

Seems a little creepy to me that 7 people got here searching for 'Richard Gaywood's girlfriend'.

I always think it is slightly creepy seeing anyone on there, but yeah, that is pretty creepy. I can only hope it was the lady in question trying to trace her way back here having deliberately deleted all reference to this place, then reneging on that drunken promise, "never to go back to that debauched circle of reprobates," lured back by Zardoz musky aftershave and Mr Dave's press-up ability.

I've been playing Madden 09. I's quite tricky. I can jsut about throw and catch the ball, but I get confused very quickly when it comes to do anything else.

Maybe it was a load of chicks all wanting to see if they had any competition before vying for the affections of our internet celebrity.
