I photographer Tiff Needell a few years ago and he stated categorically that they at the very least lied about Jodie Kidd's lap time when she topped the leaderboard, but made it clear that she was none the wiser that they had done so as she was so convinced that she had discovered a natural gift that she then went on to pursue a farcical career in GT racing for Maserati. He partnered her in one of the Trofeo series and was literally hiding behind his menu pissing himself laughing about how bad she was when he was recounting the story over lunch - she was something like 30 seconds a lap slower than him.

I can't stand that man. Is he alright in person?

Also: I would tell Jodie Kidd whatever she wanted to hear.

Tiff's awesome on telly. I can't remember who said it, but "he could powerslide a supertanker" is probably quite true.

I admire his driving, but just can't stand the way he speaks, putting weird stresses on every other word whilst contorting his face.

He's not the most charismatic presenter, true, but I enjoyed his company a lot. The fact that we went to his house to photograph him and he agreed to come for lunch with us afterward and was amusing and quite indiscreet are all pluses in my mind.

Would've been almost the same as driving the Tomcat to the Lakes.

Maybe, but you've got more of a chance getting laid with /\1ß3®†0. Especially if I hide his glasses and I say you're Dawn French.

Looking that way. We had the IVF stuff (due to Patience having problems in there, including only having one ovary left) and our sperm and eggs mixed well, they got a great little blastocyst out of it, put it in Patience, then we had to wait a week and half (never, ever has anything in my life felt that long) and the pregnancy test came back positive. And so did another one a day later. And she's having all the symptoms from morning sickness to back ache to eating a million of food to nosebleeds.

Early days - we have a scan in three weeks to check it's all going well - but it's looking very good. I think we're past the "implantation not working" into "actually pregnant" territory - now we just have to hope she stays that way for nine months or so. Yesterday at the clinic they were very congratulatory instead of being cautiously optimistic.

I'm not going out buying baby supplies yet, but I have got a "OMG! BABIES! WTF?!?" book out of the library.

Thanks for that. They should just put 'Don't Panic' / 'Panic Now' on them though.

Congrats Rev.. um, assuming it's what you want, obviously.

Unfortunately, it all being done in the lab means that my wife can't pretend she had an affair and take me on Maury for a DNA test.

Very much so. Been trying for four years - getting to this stage IVF-wise has taken a couple of years. I'm not taking anything for granted yet, but, yeah.

A friends company worked with him once. They nicknamed him "Tiff Needledick".

Another unnamed ex-Top Gear presenter once made one of those direct to video programmes that hadn't sold well. As a condition of him doing a paid personal appearance at your premises, you'd have to buy a quantity of the unsold VHS tapes to flog. A client of mine still has a box of unsold VHS tapes in his garage as a result. He was a tit as well.

Thanks all. We wouldn't announce it so soon, when it's still so uncertain, but (a) a lot of people know we've been doing the whole IVF thing and (b) Patience's dad sent out a mass email announcing it to the world today.

Ooh if it's a girl you can call her April. If it's a boy... Ape?

Might get one (or more) of each, high frequency with IVF pregnancy ;)

Nah, we only had one blastocyst put in there - they've started doing that to cut down on the number of multiple births.

I'm the fucking broadband Daddy around here! A full 1.6 meg today, with people down the road on a mere 1.2, and alot of people on just half a meg.

I would like to thank Draytek, my I-Plate and Zen Internet.

[edit] Although the people on the other exchange a mile away get 4 meg. Still it's hardly like I can make BT run a cable from there.

Surely they should time code those test results? I get six megs or so at 5am, but half a meg or so at 8pm.

It's based on people that have done their speed test near where you live, so it's far more accurate than simply 'guessing'. What does their speed test say you get?

Also, bear in mind that the people around you might have only ordered 2Mb broadband.

Not much use in me running the test from the office, I shall try it out tonight. :D

Speed test says I get 7Mb, added that to the map, it doesn't show up and it tells me that they have no results for that area :D
