Vote for the 3 games you want to play in the next "season" of the 8 Bit Challange. The top 12 games will be played, the others will be [echo]consigned to history[/echo].

The majority can be played online, but some people have used an offline wildcard.

Vote closes this time next week.

YOU VOTE NOW!

At least Navy Seals is doing well with 2 votes. I think that is a game that would seperate the men from the boys. But yeah we need a few more votes.

I have voted. I'm glad to see 3D Deathchase is safe. Not that I'm any good at it, I just like it.

And 'County Bob Strikes Back'

Unless it's a Bob Willis cricket sim, I suppose.

Shouldn't Navy Seals be Navy SEALS?

Actually on the nice golden graphic on the title screen it is "NAVY SEALS".

Yes, but the word navy comes from Latin—isn't SEALS an acronym? This is a poor show.

I suggest you write to Ocean.

Meanwhile, we have two versions of Commando in the picture? Does everyone really want to play both or should we just go with the version that gets the most votes?

Somehow I hadn't realised this problem until now.

Why isn't it S.E.A.L.S then?

TFX = Experimental Tactical Fighter. Remember that?

Acronyms aren't dotted as a general rule. SCSI, USB, DVDA.

Chinny - drop the C64 Commando, you know you want to.

Crackout used to be Krakout on the spectrum (unless that's a completely different game)
Or you could be on about Snake, Rattle 'n' Roll?

Edit - Always google first. Crackout and Krakout are different (yet similar)

We'll see what the opinion is once the vote closes late this evening.

I may also need to enlist the help of a neutral mod to randomly select in which order we play the games.

Not that I mind, but why Jet Boot Jack and not Rollercoaster.

Apologies, I was very tired when I did the list. Here's the amended list and it's been kindly randomised by a kind member of the forum.

This is the order we will play in:

Cobra (Spectrum)
Snake Rattle and Roll (NES)
Commando (C64)
Rollercoaster (Spectrum)
Rodland (NES)
3D Deathchase (Spectrum)
Navy Seals (GX4000)
Gun Fright (Spectrum)
International Karate (C64)
Encounter (C64)
Kwik Snax Dizzy (CPC)
R-Type (Spectrum)

Sorry, been bogged under.

Thought it might be a good idea to run the new season from Fridays instead of Tuesday. Still 6pm closing, but it should give people a better run up on the final day (Fridays traditionally being the day for B3TA, Holy Moly, etc)
