My gf's birthday is also near Christmas, which sucks as I have to stockpile loads of gifts and then cut the pile in half to distribute between each event. Despite trying hard, it always seems like each pile individually is quite small.

It sucks to have a birthday near Christmas. I feel I'm barely getting away with it in November.

Bhindi Bhaji (well, okra) was one of my favourite things to eat when I was a very wee one. Chamlai is a tandoori-style affair that comes out in a burning hot iron skillet. Tis very nice, and just the right amount of spicy.

The redder, hotter nature of the tarts cannot be shown on this website, suffice to say the full version of their picture is much more... ahem... 'yes' than the full version of the previous one.

Eep, sorry this didn't happen yesterday, but I had a bit of a problem. Seems someone had hacked into my laptop and was using it to then hack into NASA's secret UFO files. I was wondering why I didn't have any net access, swearing, trying and failing to reboot my computer, all the rest of it. Then a message popped up on the screen telling me that I was an enemy of the US and suspected terrorist and to stay in my house and await the authorities. I just assumed it was some hilarious japery, probably based on some amazing new forum feature Grim... had been working on, so ignored it.

But then there was a knock on the door.

It was Buzz Aldrin!

And the Toxic Avenger!

Eek!

The Toxic Avenger held me in his mutant arms while Buzz Aldrin beat me round the face and hands with a model of the Saturn V rocket.

"THERE! ARE! NO! ALIENS!" he cried, over and over and again.

"Except that one!" he shouted, as I looked over to a grey alien figure standing outside my front door, watching the scene.

Eventually he got tired and I tried to use my battered, bleeding face to ask what the hell was going on. But by that time the Toxic Avenger had stopped holding me down (I wasn't going anywhere) and had investigated my computer.

"Wait!" he said. "This man is innocent! They were using a Linux-based web-proxy network interface CPU command override virus trojan appware suite to misuse his computer!"

Buzz Aldrin apologised and said, "Well, while I'm here, please pass on my hearty birthday congratulations to the chaps at BETEO who are celebrating today! Happy birthday all!"

"And from me too!" said the Toxic Avenger.

I don't remember them leaving, because at that point I passed out and have only just woken up.

But, anyway, belated happy birthday from me, Buzz Aldrin and the Toxic Avenger!

(The grey alien didn't seem to care.)
