Today I got delivered a set of Teng screwdrivers since all the Stanley ones I've had for donkey's have finally got a bit worn or just fucked off somewhere.

Only exciting things like screwdrivers. Not petrol or DLC or things like that. Silicon sealant is a bit borderline but I'll let it pass.

Most recent 'interesting' purchase: an Asus Chromebook a couple of weeks ago.

I want one of those grabby screwdrivers James May had on The Reassembler where he was putting his toy train back together. They look life changingly awesome.

Just had a Retron 5 delivered. It was listed as faulty so I figured if I could get it working, I could re-sell it and if not, it would at least give me a second pad to use with my existing one. Sadly, I've just tried to power it up and the strong burning smell from within the console suggests it's destined for the bin. Oh well.

I'm on leave this week so today me and Mrs Hearthly went kettle shopping at Curry's via Maccy D's. (There are loads of nice eateries to choose from but we both just fancied a Maccy D's.)

Anyway, the kettles ranged from £13 to £80 (£80 FOR A FUCKING KETTLE), we settled on this midrange £35 affair that we agreed had the most generously sized spout to enable easy filling via the spout rather than taking the lid off.

It boils water very well and overall I would recommend this kettle to friends.

I'm hoping that tomorrow will feature more shagging and less kettle shopping.

Aside from the Echo, I bought this just after Xmas got some super Prime Deal and it cost around £8

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01 ... UTF8&psc=1

Brilliant torch for the money, easy to recharge and really bright.

Bought a complete set of Mr Men and Little Miss books on EBay for £20, 2nd hand but usually find this sort of thing is never used that much, just so I'm clear these are for my son :)

The complete room looks like this...

So fairly self sufficient in terms of music equipment. (also have a proper drum kit in another room, but I'd be killed if I were to use that at home) except for singing ability. (and lyric writing ability. My songs tend to have fragments which I hear when I listen, but haven't recorded)

Although I dare say that a proper drum kit played by a better drummer than I would sound better than me through addictive drums 2.

The mixer fulfills a few roles - 1) stops me needing to faff around with cables whenever I want to use something different, while not being the noisy heap o' poo that the old behringer mixer was.
2) when doing live work, it accepts a USB connection and allows recording of all channels separately, meaning recordings can be taken and not sound rubbish. And has more than 10 xlr inputs. Which has proven to be too few.
3)can also accept up to 22 channels from the computer in place of the physical inputs and allow for some slightly easier playing around with mixes than is possible with my 8 track control surface.

Generally, music tastes veer towards late 60s/early 70s blues/rock. Think Free, Led Zeppelin, Cream, early Sabbath etc with some other influences thrown in there - pearl jam, pink floyd, various others. But don't really know how I'd categorise what I'd write. People who have heard my work have generally gone for introspective not-quite-rock.

That's awesome Dave and if I had the space (and not a shot load of games) then I'd have a studio.

I'm serious about doing some drumming for you though, I'd love to help out... If only for a bit of fun!
